I've never seen ground meat packaged like this either, but the idea actually makes sense. If the tube is airtight and minimizes surface exposure, you’re reducing contact with oxygen, the main driver of oxidation and spoilage in ground meat. Less oxygen means slower browning and potentially longer shelf life. I wish I had this packaging available to me.

@ChouaIsaac @Mottel It's fine. Small butchers won't have the machinery to do it unless they make salami. If it comes directly from a packing house it's easier to pack that way.
