Remember where we were in summer 2020: the first COVID wave was behind us but we still understood very little about the disease. Catching it was terrifying because there were no treatments - it was purely a dice roll if you ended up okay, in the hospital, or worse.

Nobody wants to talk about it, because waiters and bartenders are nice people, but "no tax on tips" is easily one of the most irresponsible policy ideas of my lifetime. It will distort the economy in weird ways. Why should an Uber driver or barber get tax relief, but not a grocery store clerk or janitor? It's totally nuts, given the scale of tipping in many sectors.

Hi @freddieoconnell - is there a reason Southeastern Electric parks vehicles in the rightmost of 3 lanes next to City Hall blocking ingress to Robertson bridge? Short-term - no problem... but this is all day every day going on 3 months now. Creates traffic hazard on PM commute

It was always apparent that the public health establishment eschewed nuanced messaging in favor of treating the general public like children. As it turns out, the general public don't appreciate being treated like children. Communicate risks & uncertainty, & let adults decide.
