Intern managed to sneak into the @RujiraNetwork kitchen with a hidden camera. What do you think the devs were cooking? 👀
English

@jpthor @littlebunny1899 @TheDivingPaaao Had the same issues on a linux laptop last week. My iPhone/ipad nodes worked fine.
Only get one chance to onboard users. Once you fix these and add ruji features I’ll move everything to vultisig
English

@Harmfultweeter @ThorTrades8 always aimed is quite the stretch. 10% makes 0 sense to me.
40-50% maybe? Fully depends on what kind of revenue the dapps start creating. RUNE will follow in due time. Currently its mainly speculation given minimal apps are up generating rev
English

Jp always aimed for Ruji to be 10% of the Rune MC. It’s now 25%. Either Ruji falls to 50cts again or Rune price rises. In the long run the Rune and Ruji price should reflect earnings. I guess Rune is a far better deal at its current price but ppl like narrative and potential fat more than rational valuations so no telling where the PA for Ruji stops. It defo has momentum now
English

The only thing holding $Ruji back imo is the 50/50 share of fees with $Rune
Otherwise this would teleport to $10
But it does not make sense for $Ruji to have a higher mcap then $Rune

$RUJI rocket 🚀
English

@kylekrason @RujiraNetwork Doesnt help that a swap frontend isnt a complicated thing to build.
Regardless, if Ruji does well, naturally Rune should follow (assuming its driven by rev and not fully speculative). I think the future is bright
English

@kylekrason @RujiraNetwork not sure I see it as a TC mistake but I get it. with a 50/50 split, I see Ruji/Rune as the same thing
its hard to rebrand things at this point but I kinda foresee a merge in 1-2 years. As which point many of the issue discussed this week go away.
English

@kylekrason @RujiraNetwork agree, see follow up 4.1. But with dedicated frontend, maybe easier idk
English

@kylekrason @RujiraNetwork 4.1 ruji leading/funding marketing might be the best bet here. new token/kid on the block has value and its the shiny new toolkit to drive revenue
English

@kylekrason @RujiraNetwork 1. besides security, this incentivizes buying rune and bonding with high APR (hopefully!)
2. I'm more excited for the auto bonding contract. one-click staking is important
3. Im pro TC FE (cough-cough ruji swap) but dont think it has the impact many do
4. dedicated marketing?
English

@TCY_Bull @codehans1 Ruji swap is like any other frontend/affiliate and doesn’t use secured assets. You’re thinking of the order book, Trade
English

@codehans1 So will ruji swaps be mostly using its own base layer liquidity or virtualisation liquidity for swaps?
English

@weidai6502 @KentonC137 @proof_steve @THORChain this is really my only issue with the proposed; otherwise im in favor.
I still think long term a ruji/rune merge with ruji/rune swap being the 0 affiliate front end makes the most sense
English

@KentonC137 @proof_steve @THORChain TC would then need an actual end-user support team, which is what every front-end provides. AFAIK TC does not have that right now; 9R is focused on dev, not end-user support.
English

@sanchoaccel @Thormax20 @KentonC137 @RujiJesus @kylekrason @THORChain @TornadoCash no additional base layer fees. small 5bps affiliate fee like TCB posted
English

@Thormax20 @KentonC137 @RujiJesus @mallocc_ @kylekrason @THORChain @TornadoCash Or have a affiliate and make that go into a marketing budget
English

@SliceTank @KentonC137 @kylekrason @THORChain @Thormax20 In my world view, rujira shouldnt be concerned with rev from swaps. It should be concerned with building the best core dapps and composable building blocks for builders on top of TC.
In the long term (1-2 years?), I see a ruji/rune merge which is why I posed this thought
English

@thinkwhysly @KentonC137 @kylekrason @THORChain @Thormax20 For the record I’m anti-merge until Ruji establishes itself and merge conditions make sense
But I think long term aligning everything under a single investable, rev driven token is logical
English

@thinkwhysly @KentonC137 @kylekrason @THORChain @Thormax20 Yeah that’s fair, I also was confused when I was introduced to TC. I just have doubts on how effective it’ll be or who would build it
As much as both communities hate it; merging Ruji/rune or even just rebranding in some ways would address this with Ruji swap as the interface
English

@KentonC137 @kylekrason @THORChain @Thormax20 What does "success of the front end" really mean to you?
To me the biggest barrier to buying rune is the access to rev through bonding. I will always buy TCY over RUNE because of this and find that to be a larger issue than a dedicated frontend.
English

I'm not a fan of that idea.
With a THORChain front end a secondary effect is promoting to invest in the RUNE token. People will see the success of the front end and want to buy the token of that front end.
THORSwap used to be the defacto TC front end. And way too many people, even savvy investors, kept thinking the THOR token was the THORChain token. I don't want investors thinking RUJI is the THORChain token.
English

@KentonC137 @kylekrason @THORChain @Thormax20 Kenton, what are your thoughts on just leaning into Rujira swaps as the defacto TC frontend with no affiliate fee?
Serves the case mentioned above and attracts new users to the new dapps all in the same one-stop-shop.
English

Yes, with the current business plan, where front ends can grind us on our fees, it just extracts value. Whereas with our own front end, we can develop our own brand and audience and create value for ourselves.
Having the third party integrations is a great insurance policy but shouldn't be our main policy.
The idea of Thorchain being invisible infrastructure isn't working. Look at Ledger. The user still has to select Thorchain to place the trade. Why would anyone choose Thorchain if they never heard about it? So it still behooves us to promote Thorchain so Ledger users will select it. But then why put all that effort into marketing, when Ledger gets 100 bps and we get 5 bps? We should get 100 bps for our own front end. That will give us more money to do more marketing and create a virtuous cycle. The spill over effect of that marketing is people will start becoming familiar with Thorchain, see it in Ledger, and then give it a try. So we kill two birds with one stone.
If we have our own dedicated front end, no third party front end will turn off Thorchain or avoid integrating Thorchain. Because the third party front ends have their own audience.
