What a powerful evening at the London School of Economics. I was honoured to be part of the panel discussion on “Mass media, justice and me: a victim’s perspective.” The conversation was honest, challenging and—most importantly—grounded in real lived experience. The feedback from those in the room afterwards meant a lot. It was also a pleasure to finally meet @The_Real_JSP and to spend time with the incredible @JoHamil73963257 whose strength and resilience following the Post Office scandal is nothing short of inspiring. A huge thank you to @hudgellsol and @LSELaw for the invitation and for creating a platform where these conversations can happen. These discussions matter—because behind every headline, there are real people and real consequences. Onwards.

In August 1989, just 4 months after losing my Dad in the Hillsborough disaster. We moved to Flint, North wales. I was just 6 years old. Flint is home and where I bring up my own children. I am now 43 and very proud of my "gwreiddiau Cymreig wedi'u mabwysiadu". @StePurse moved to Prestatyn in 2015. His father, David, was a flight lieutenant who was posted to a remote area called Maralinga to test atomic weapons. Our circumstances worlds apart apart. But they have brought us together as friends and as campaigners. Ste and I are very proud to live here in North Wales and even more proud of the work we do with @NowHillsborough Tonight members of @SeneddWales @SeneddCymru will vote on the Public Accountability Bill. Myself and @atomiclabrats have signed this letter which should be a wake-up call to @Keir_Starmer, @10DowningStreet and @cabinetofficeuk to stop stalling and do what was promised. The FULL Hillsborough Law. The trauma that this delay is causing mirrors the very trauma our campaign groups have suffered at the hands of the state past and present. We were promised an end to this type of state sponsored cruelty, not a continuation. This is a sad indictment of the nature and morality of UK governments of the past and even sadder, is the realisation that nothing has changed.
