It is beyond ridiculous that one person is now controlling the process. We have complied with every that has been asked of us. We have been patient, understanding, respectful but the public deserve to know what the issue is here. Fact is, The Home Secretary has never supported the Public Accountability Bill. Should she be priorising her personal views before what is good for the people of this country? @NowHillsborough #HillsboroughLawNow bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

We stand together in this fight. This law has to be put into place with no carve outs.

Hillsborough Law Now update - Following a meeting with some of our directors on 6th march, the Attorney General and Ministers pledged to contact @NowHillsborough by 20th March, with a resolution to the amendment relating to Intelligence Services. That deadline was not met, and we are now being told that the government needs just a few more days. This week, we also wrote to the Home Secretary to ask her to meet with us, given that she is the cabinet minister responsible for MI5! However, she has refused to meet us on the basis that the Attorney General has the issue in hand. But he does not! This is what we are up against. The motto appears to be "Tell them what they want to hear, and it will keep them quiet a little bit longer." Well, we won't stay silent. Silence did not expose the cover-up of the Hillsborough Disaster. Hillsborough Survivors were not vindicated because they stayed silent. Silence didn't expose the cover up of Labrats, Infected blood, Post Office Scandal, the Birmingham pub Bombings, the Manchester Arena terror attack, the Covid Pandemic, the Primdos medication, or the cover up of the death of little Zane Gbangbola. Silence did not expose the lies told by South Yorkshire Police and the contempt they had for the members of Orgreave. Silence didn't expose the rape and sexual exploitation of the young girls who were victims to Grooming Gangs. And even though Nottingham Police Force tried their hardest to keep the press silent, it was the voices of others that exposed their disgraceful failures. There have been times when our voices are all that we had. Let's not forget that this Bill was pledged by 15th April 2025, and we are now approaching 15th April 2026! The Public Accountability Bill aims to give a legal duty of candour to ALL public servants and officials. That has absolutely nothing to do with National Security, and let us be very clear, we would never call for a law that compromised the safety of the people of this country. Quite the contrary. We want to protect the people of our country, and we want the Hillsborough Law that was pledged in this Labour Partys Manifesto, because THEIR Silence is DEAFENING and we will not be treated like this any more. Charlotte Hennessy, Margaret Aspinall, Sue Roberts, and Steve Kelly. HILLSBOROUGH LAW NOW.

Earlier today I waited to ask this Question in the House of Commons but was not granted the opportunity. So with the 37th anniversary of #Hillsborough less than four weeks away, I’ll ask it here instead: What precisely is the Government’s objection to my amendment to the #HillsboroughLaw? The very least bereaved families, survivors and campaigners deserve is an answer. #JFT97 #HillsboroughLawNow

Remember that promise @Keir_Starmer made? He made it directly to Margaret on multiple occasions, then he made it to the 4 of us at Number 10, to me personally in the House Of Commons on record whilst I sat in the public gallery, then he made it again when we were at the Labour Party conference. We have made personal sacrifices to support this Prime Minister and his government and took the abuse that followed because we believe that the Public Accountability Bill is worth the fight and we want to protect others. To now be effectively "left on read" is disgraceful, deflating, insulting and embarrassing. We have worked with civil servants, minsiters, the Attorney General, the PM himself. Going in to rooms with influential people and reliving trauma and reiterating why we need a change. Now? Nothing. We still cant even offer some sort of update because we havent been given one ourselves! Silence us a form of lack of candour and to leave these good people feeling anxious and worried that this whole Bill will fail is quite frankly appalling. I am absolutely furious that we have come to this stage and are now being treated with such contempt. But then I guess we're not needed for this year's labour oarty conference hey?!!!!! Shame on the lot of you! #HillsboroughLawNow

Great work by @fleetstreetfox. Read it tomorrow.

Tomorrow @DailyMirror carries a report from me on the contents of a whistleblowing report that shows the main camp and water sources at Christmas Island were contaminated with radiation during nuclear weapons tests, and it was covered up. Two @AWE_plc staff discovered data in 2014 that showed fish, seawater, drinking water, and the air itself was radioactive. It provided a plausible route by which more than 10,000 men could have been irradiated, with horrific consequences for their families. It was known at the time of the tests, and the whistleblowers warned that every inquest, court case and pension claim since had been misled, with huge reputational risk for the government. They reported it to AWE bosses, and to @DefenceHQ senior management. It was suppressed, until a tip-off last year to the veterans' legal team at @mccuejury led to a secret 8-month battle to find the report, and the data. The MoD has confirmed it was told about this data in 2014. It has no explanation about what, if anything, was done. Lawyers have reported it to the Prime Minister and to the Chief Constable of @ThamesVP, urging them to investigate allegations of perjury, perverting the course of justice, misconduct in public office and conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation. Today after 70 years of fighting for the truth, these maligned heroes are vindicated. They were right. The government lied. And now they have a document that proves it. cc @JohnHealey_MP @AndyBurnhamGM @Keir_Starmer @AngelaRayner @KemiBadenoch @EdwardJDavey @RLong_Bailey @EmmaLewell @MetroMayorSteve @PeterStefanovi2 @atomiclabrats

we can't allow a security service carve out and we need better whistleblowing protections 👇👇👇
fleetstreetfox@fleetstreetfox

In 2014, two @AWE_plc staff blew the whistle on a cover-up about troops who were first exposed to radiation, then lied to. Their report detailed the story of Billy Morris, a 20 year old sapper sent to Christmas Island, and an article I had written about him. open.substack.com/pub/whattheydo…

As we enter the 8th week following the cancellation of The Report Stage hearing of the Public Accountability Bill I am very disappointed to say that, there is no update or resolve. The government are still not willing to adopt our original amendment relating to Intelligence Services. Frustratingly. As anniversaries now being to approach for the various campaigns within our @NowHillsborough group, we will be supporting one another and remain committed to ensuring a Hillsborough Law in its entirety. Can i also say thanks to those of you who support us and remain positive. Its difficult some days, particularly as we feel there is no end in sight but little messages and check ins really make a difference and we all appreciate it ❤️❤️ YNWA
