General surgery had the highest median overreported operative time (+26 minutes) followed by neurosurgery (+23.5 minutes) and urology (+20 minutes). Overreporting of the operative time strongly correlated to higher RVU per hour (r=0.87, P=.002).

The @AmerMedicalAssn -RUC continues to use inaccurate self-reported surveys for operative times, resulting in discrepancies in RVU/ hour (AND SUBSEQUENT REIMBURSEMENT) across specialties and a persistent disparity for women-specific procedures in GYN. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34237766/

@AckertKathleen Some patients are not comfortable with the entire surgery being performed vaginally. Regardless of approach, I make it a point to discuss what instruments go where (e.g. Foley, uterine manipulator) and how they might feel afterward (sore, burning with peeing) #JMIGjc

MIGS has a great role to play in the care of these patients! Many do not use their vaginas, and are not amenable to vaginal closure. It takes skill to close the cuff laparoscopically. Would like to hear others experiences of vaginal cuff closure in trans men
