Almost 30k likes on a tweet that’s not true at all. Fellow Millennials might not remember, but there was a VERY concerted effort to get women (and people) on the internet itself! And yes celebs were enlisted in those efforts! The idea that tech marketing is new is very silly

From Alphaville. It seems like the free world and democracies are remarkably poor at managing and establishing SWF (I mean just consider the fact that UK does not have equivalent of Equinor and yada yada). Low human capital or pensioners capture?

@futureghost327 @ChaseBrowe32432 The issue here is not that it makes people feel good (for example you wouldn’t say this about medical morphine if we are giving it to people after surgery), the issue is the negative externalities like addiction, overdose risks, public health burdens

@futureghost327 @ChaseBrowe32432 I think you are confusing three things: 1. Things that actually have no utility (dust bunnies under bed) 2. Things that are “bad” (sin consumption), and 3. Things that have negative externalities (drugs, fossil fuels)

@mandogkorn Far to many regulations to "build" real things that's why unregulated industries like the internet and now Ai gets so much funding is there's no government sanctioned monopoly via regulations, mind you 35-45% of a houses list price is permitting costs.
