The same room that covered for Harvey Weinstein for thirty years. That does the whole "I had no idea" face when the allegations drop. Guy got sentenced to prison by his own government for making films. His screenwriter arrested weeks earlier for supporting protesters. Bardem is literally holding Panahi's nomination in his hands. Not splashing some water in their eyes before the cameras roll and donating $10 to the Red Cross. Every pin is focus-grouped. Every speech is written for that specific room on that specific night. The same actors who pledged to boycott Israeli film institutions have never once pledged to boycott Chinese ones or said no to Saudi money. China is Hollywood's second biggest market. A million Uyghurs in concentration camps don't get a pin because there's no box office in standing up for them. Simple as that. The villain needs the right passport and political ideology.
