New Health Secretary James Murray is an exciting appointment. One of those charismatic characters who livens up the Westminster scene. Of course, dreary James only got the job after Angela Rayner turned it down.

We've reached the point in the UK where working full time doesn't actually mean anything anymore. It used to mean stability. It used to mean you could afford a home, eat properly, maybe go away once a year and not panic if your car made a weird noise. Now it just means nothing. You wake up early, work all day, come home tired, and still somehow sit there wondering how you're going afford everything. Rent is ridiculous. Bills are constant. Food prices change depending on the mood of the supermarket. And wages? Basically frozen in time. You're not lazy. You're not bad with money. You're just trying to survive in a system where everything goes up except what you get paid.

This is the final photographs of Phillip Herron 34, crying in his car, literally minutes before taking his own life. He was a single Dad with three kids, struggling with crushing debt of over £20,000 and was desperately waiting for a Payday loan he'd applied for. But it was paid in arrears, with a 5 week wait time. That wait drove him even deeper into debt, and when he died he had £4.61 in his bank account and clearly couldn't see any other way out. Like a lot of people, especially men, he kept all of this to himself, nobody else knew how bad things were getting. This poor man even had to tell his children that Santa Claus wouldn’t come this year, and in his suicide note he wrote that they'd be better off if he wasn't around any more. And now he isn't. We need to talk more. We need to be kinder. And we need to be a country that helps each other when we need it the most.

My restaurant might get shut down by authorities. Reason - not selling Halal food For years, we’ve worked hard to build our restaurant. We are now facing ongoing harassment, nuisances outside the restaurant, and repeated complaints to the local council aimed at shutting us down and threatening to revoke our premises licence. We believe this pressure is connected to our decision not to remove our “Non-Halal” sign. No business owner should face intimidation or coordinated attempts to destroy their livelihood because of their beliefs, values, or business choices. To everyone who has supported us, thank you.

There's a squatter living at 10 Downing Street. Description: short, stocky, borrowed glasses, free grey suit, dazed expression like a fox caught in the headlights, hair by Velcro. Warning: do not approach this desperado. He is the most dangerous man in Britain.

MasterChef star Gregg Wallace reveals the daily reality of caring for his severely autistic seven-year-old son Sid who is still non-verbal and in nappies Gregg, 60, and wife Anna have spoken openly about the huge challenges of raising Sid, who has profound autism and very limited communication. Sid still wears nappies at age seven and requires round-the-clock care. Gregg said the family receives very little external support and described the situation as incredibly demanding and isolating. He is now speaking out to highlight the lack of practical help available for families with severely autistic children. In previous interviews Gregg has shared small positive updates about Sid’s progress with communication and routines, but stressed the reality is far from easy. The couple have repeatedly said they feel let down by the system and that many parents in similar situations are left to cope alone. Gregg has been open about how the intense demands have affected family life and his own mental health at times. Should he be receiving more help?

On this day 41 years ago, 54 Bradford City supporters and two Lincoln City supporters went to a football match and never returned home. We will never forget those who sadly lost their lives, and as always, our thoughts are with their families and the hundreds still affected by the disaster to this day. Always in our hearts. 🎗️ #BCAFC

I joined X (Twitter) shortly after losing my 13 year old daughter, Ashley, to brain cancer. It’s become my lifeline, a place to amplify our #ChildhoodCancer community’s voice & connect with incredible friends who inspire me to keep fighting. My deepest hope is to awaken the world to the heartbreaking toll this disease takes on entire families & to rally the urgent support our brave Children have been denied for far too long. Your follows & reposts are so appreciated that will help us carry our message even further. THANK YOU. ❤️

Charlotte's Battle Against Glioblastoma (BAG)
Within a few days of Charlotte passing, I was faced with the task of going into her bedroom. She had always taken such pride in her room; everything had its place, everything just so. As I stepped inside, I half expected to hear her voice: “Could we go into town later? I need to buy…” But there was only silence. I stood there, taking it all in. Nothing had changed. Everything was exactly where she had left it before she slipped into a coma. Her makeup brushes lay scattered across the dressing table, and the lid of her favourite perfume sat half open, as though she had only just set it down and would be back at any moment. Her bed was strewn with the clothes she had worn before everything changed. I lifted one of her tops to my face, and her scent still lingered there, as if she had only just changed into another outfit. I looked over at her bedside cabinet, the vase with the fairy lights I still couldn’t bear to switch on, the small Audrey Hepburn calendar hanging crookedly on the wall beside it. I opened her wardrobe doors slowly. All her clothes still hung there, untouched, waiting for a life that had suddenly stopped. On the bottom shelf sat the pair of shoes she had promised herself she would wear on her nineteenth birthday, when she finally went out celebrating. They looked painfully new, full of plans that would never happen. There were dresses from Top Shop still hanging in the wardrobe with their price tags attached. She would never have been able to wear them then. The steroids, along with the brain tumour that had wrapped itself around herhypothalamus, had caused her weight to increase almost tenfold. She had bought the dresses in the sale a while ago, all in her usual size 8, convincing herself that once she came off the steroids, the weight would disappear and life would begin to feel normal again. Seeing them there untouched, unworn, still carrying that quiet hope hurt more than I canexplain. They were proof that somewhere beneath all the hospital appointments, medications, and devastating diagnosis, she had still been planning for a future. Charlotte, was just 19 when she died from a brain tumour on 24th February 2016 10 years ago. In that time: Nothing has changed with the standard NHS chemotherapy Temozolomide  licensed back in 1999. Nothing has changed in the standard six-week course of radiotherapy. But one thing has changed: Charlotte’s BAG has raised £382,000  directly funding research at Charlotte’s Lab, King’s College Hospital, London The big difference with our charity is simple: we self-fund everything. No salaries No overheads No advertising No merchandise We even cover the PayPal and PO Box fees personally so nothing is taken from the charity account. If you want to donate to a brain tumour charity please think of us and pop a pound in Charlotte's Bag.  charlottesbag.org Please RT with thanks

⚠️ Racism alert ⚠️ Charlene White shared that she had recently been racially profiled while shopping in London. Despite her high-profile career as an ITV News presenter and Loose Women anchor, White detailed a "blatant" incident where a security guard followed her around a stationery shop simply because of the colour of her skin. Funny.. the same thing happened to me in Tesco two weeks ago. A black security guard was following me around and just as I was leaving, he stopped me and asked if I had “paid for all my shopping” to which I replied is it because I’m “white” obviously he said no ..
