Man I just saw the craziest sight here in Vancouver. Some guy at the Shoppers Drug Mart filled up a shopping basket absolutely full of candies and chips and other snacks and things and then just confidently strolled right out the front door. I told the old guy stocking the shelves, and he was like, “yeah and that’s not even the worst. I once saw someone walk out with a 50 inch TV.” He said sometimes the security guards do something, if they are authorized to make arrests, but usually not. He was from the Philippines. “Canadian law says you can’t touch them or that’s assault. Back home the guards have guns and they’d just shoot them.”

@Apogee_Ent Mario 64 is the answer to this thread. Nintendo didn’t HAVE to go so hard on nailing buttery smooth and responsive 3d movement in their first major 3d game, but they did, and the industry was better for it.

Rewatching the Grand Tour episode where James May’s i3 went against Clarkson’s Golf GTI. It’s always suspicious when everything that could go wrong with one side does and the other goes so smoothly. That said, the i3 was a pretty poor representation of the state of EVs.

However My 2017 laptop’s video card fried out of nowhere and my 2014 laptops hardware also bricked out of nowhere. Weren’t cheap units. I’m curious what your make and model is to have lasted

@jim1walsh @davepl1968 You’re right, my brother is currently using my 2013 hardware in my custom rig and he’s still streaming games to twitch released yesterday. He’s not enjoying that experience by any means but it does, charitably, work, in a post electron enshittification world

It was an awesome time because you didn't have to buy a phone and a laptop and an iPad and a desktop and a VCR and a Microwave and second car. They didn't have MORE, they had less. They were just content to live with that. So now they own their home and you're leasing an iPhone from T-Mobile.

I didn't work on Vista, so here's my hot take: Vista was great. But it sucked on XP hardware, so it got a bad rap from people upgrading older PCs. On then-current hardware, it was really nice and visually elegant!

@KaiXCreator It’s helping me put up less barriers for feature development. Everyone’s happier. Stakeholders requests are heard, I don’t have to worry as much about time sunk into exploration, things get delivered faster and with more edge cases covered and polish than before; It’s been good

@yegor256 mmm half right, a single post entrypoint with a payload that includes exactly what the caller wants to do and fetch in a single call is the way forward, but the agent may and will simply deal with the responses, making sense of the loosely defined serialized I/O

RESTful APIs may be dead soon. Instead, web services may expose a single POST entry point for a prompt. Internally, an AI agent may decide how to interpret it and what to do with the data and the database.
