@TomTSEC Great idea. We could call it, say, the National Energy Program. I wonder how that would work out.

🚨🇬🇧 Former UK PM Liz Truss warned Canadians about PM @MarkJCarney . She blamed him for policies that helped trigger economic turmoil during his tenure as Governor of the Bank of England. Carney ran the Bank from 2013–2020. The same man now lecturing Canada on economic management. Canadians should ask: What was his track record abroad?🤔 #cdnpoli #Canada #UK #Economy #Carney

This is such an irresponsible post, exploiting someone's real, tragic pain from 2022 to spread a completely false narrative for engagement. Here is the truth: Fact Check: Is the Canadian Government Advertising MAID? Verdict: FALSE ❌ The video in the post is not a government advertisement. It is a corporate commercial created by a private clothing retailer. The Facts: 👉 No Canadian Government Involvement: The Canadian government had absolutely nothing to do with the creation, funding, or broadcasting of this video. It is not a public service announcement or a government campaign. 👉 The True Author: The video was produced by La Maison Simons, a private, family-owned Canadian fashion and home goods retailer. You can read the CBC News report interviewing the company's CEO about their brand campaign here: cbc.ca/news/canada/mo… 👉 The Date: The commercial, titled "All Is Beauty," was launched in October 2022. Following intense public backlash for using medically assisted dying to promote a retail brand, Simons pulled the ad shortly after its release. Summary: The post takes a real, highly controversial fashion commercial from late 2022 and falsely claims it is an official government advertisement ("Canada is NOW…"). ‼️ ⚠️Yes, we should absolutely discuss the real problems within our healthcare system, but let's do it in a responsible way. cbc.ca/news/canada/mo…

Six months ago, King Charles III received Donald Trump at Windsor Castle. Horse-drawn carriages. A 41-gun salute. A state banquet in St George’s Hall with 160 guests. Trump stood next to the King, visibly moved, and called it “one of the highest honours of my life.” Britain smiled, nodded, and filed that away. Today Trump posted a hostile video about the United Kingdom. Downing Street issued a three-sentence response and got on with its day. Because here is the thing about Britain that Americans never quite grasp: this country has been burying empires since before the United States existed. It has outlasted Napoleon, Hitler, and the Soviet Union. It will outlast this. Trump wanted a reaction. He wanted the phone calls, the grovelling, the desperate reassurances. He got a shrug from a country that invented the stiff upper lip and has been practising it for a thousand years. While Washington careens between threats and tantrums, Britain is quietly doing what Britain does. Building alliances. Signing defence agreements. Hosting the leaders that actually matter at Chequers and Downing Street. The adults are in the room. They just stopped expecting Trump to be one of them. The special relationship was always a polite fiction. Britain knew that. It kept the fiction alive because it was useful. Now that it isn’t, Britain is doing what any self-respecting island nation does. It moves on. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1

I see a bit of a "math struggle" in some of the comments. So let me help clear the air. Total MAID Cases: 16,499 (5.1% of all deaths) Track 1 (Terminal): 15,767 (95.6% of cases) Track 2 (Chronic): 732 (4.4% of cases) Mental Illness (Sole): ZERO (0%) Minors/Kids: ZERO (0%) To be clear: Under Bill C-62, it is currently ILLEGAL in Canada to receive MAID for "seasonal depression" or any mental illness as a sole condition. Furthermore, MAID is strictly limited to adults 18+. We can debate the ethics of the policy, but we can't debate the law. Accuracy matters. Source: Health Canada 6th Annual Report (Nov 2025)

Busy week 😅Here's the fact & reality check recap if you missed it 🇨🇦👇 1/ "Canadian troops were targeted". The military delayed the announcement to relocate them to safety. Every single one came home safe. There's no scandal here once you read past the headline. 🔗 x.com/FlavioEvan/sta… 2/ PM @MarkJCarney didn't flip-flop on Iran. Adapting your diplomacy to a spiraling, unconsulted war in real time is called statecraft. Here's what he actually said. 🔗 x.com/FlavioEvan/sta… 3/ You need a Canadian passport just to get on the international voter list. The "foreign voter fraud" post is designed to make you angry before you check. So we checked. 🔗 x.com/FlavioEvan/sta… 4/ Canada is the only Western nation with every raw material to build a complete EV supply chain. @PierrePoilievre 's FTA stockpile plan would lock us out of the customers lining up to buy it. 🔗 x.com/FlavioEvan/sta… 5/ CETA took 8 years. CPTPP took 10. Carney has been in office 12 months and already unlocked Indonesia, Japan, India and South Korea. "Empty communiques" is not the fact check @PierrePoilievre thinks it is. 🔗 x.com/FlavioEvan/sta… 6/ Canada doesn't need a strategic oil reserve. We are the reserve. @PierrePoilievre is selling a solution to a problem that only exists in his post. 🔗 x.com/FlavioEvan/sta… 7/ Canadian crude exports to non-US markets are up 300%. @alexbrown17 Fuck off you condescending twat. I don’t need polling or media declarations to make my travel and spending decisions. And I am certainly not ‘spooked’ by them. It may surprise you but, even as a ‘senior’, I have both agency and the experience to exert it.

Took a rare personal day Tuesday for a little PNW road trip with an old friend. Crossing the border: a breeze as usual. Our neighbours: friendly as usual. These stories, the attempts to further nudge already spooked seniors, they should be beneath us. But then again, it’s an unholy alliance of a Liberal pollster and the CTV newsroom. The conditioning is the point.

Ok @PierrePoilievre, since you like stories, let's recap: The facts clearly show massive, active investments across the North, including specific operational hubs in Whitehorse, Yukon. We can look past the online rage bait and examine the real details of Prime Minister Mark Carney’s comprehensive Arctic plan. 🇨🇦 SECURING CANADA’S ARCTIC: A NEW ERA OF ACTION 🇨🇦 Both Stephen Harper and Justin Trudeau failed to secure Canada’s Arctic and modernize NORAD. ❌ Stephen Harper promised three heavy armed icebreakers and a deepwater naval port at Nanisivik. He ultimately scrapped the ships and downgraded the port to a seasonal refueling station. ✅ Justin Trudeau announced a $38.6 billion NORAD commitment in June 2022. ❌ He spread this funding over a massive 20 YEARS period, severely delaying immediate, concrete action. Prime Minister Mark Carney is treating Arctic security with the seriousness it requires. In his first weeks in office, his government immediately expended $6.5 billion to advance the Arctic Over the Horizon Radar system. On March 12, 2026, Carney announced the immediate deployment blueprint for the remaining $35 billion from the 2022 NORAD pool: • $32B for military base upgrades in Yellowknife, Inuvik, Iqaluit, and Goose Bay. • $2.67B for Northern Operational Support Hubs in locations like Whitehorse and Resolute. 🚧 New 2026 Real Initiatives Carney also announced new civilian and dual use infrastructure projects. The Major Projects Office will fast track these initiatives to accelerate construction: • Mackenzie Valley Highway: Construction begins this summer to connect Wrigley to Inuvik. • Grays Bay Road and Port: A 230 km all season road and new deepwater port in Nunavut. • Arctic Economic and Security Corridor: A 400 km all season road through the Slave Geological Province. • Taltson Hydro Expansion: Adding 60 megawatts to double NWT hydro capacity. • Civilian Airport Upgrades: $294 million for the Rankin Inlet and Inuvik airports. 📈 Combined Total Investments These combined commitments represent nearly $49 billion in active, rolling investments for Northern security and infrastructure. #cdnpoli #ArcticDefence #NORAD #NorthernCanada #Infrastructure #Yukon ****** Sources: • Department of National Defence: Canada's NORAD Modernization Plan Framework (June 2022). • Prime Minister's Office: Official Press Release on Arctic Defence and Infrastructure Blueprint (March 12, 2026). • Major Projects Office: 2026 Northern Infrastructure Fast Track Initiatives. • Parliamentary Budget Officer / Historical Defence Reports: Status of Nanisivik Naval Facility and Polar Icebreaker Procurement (Harper Era records).

"Canadian Armed Forces were attacked on March 1, 2026, in Kuwait" — James Bezan The recent Iranian missile strike on the Ali Al-Salem Air Base provides a clear example of the complexities of modern Middle Eastern logistics. To understand the situation, we must look at the facts behind the headlines so you can judge by yourself. The Timeline of Conflict 👉 The regional situation changed on February 28, 2026. The United States and Israel launched a massive offensive against Iran. This operation began without a United Nations mandate and without prior consultation with international partners like Canada. Prime Minister @MarkJCarney responded by immediately ruling out any Canadian participation in the offensive. Canada remains focused on logistics and regional stability. The Reality of Ali Al-Salem 👉The facility is often described as a Canadian base, but this description is inaccurate. Sovereign Ownership 👉 The Ali Al-Salem Air Base is a facility owned and operated by the Government of Kuwait. A Major U.S. Hub 👉 This base is a primary operations center for the United States Air Force. Because the U.S. uses this site to support its regional missions, the base is a high-priority target for retaliation. The Canadian Presence 👉 Canada operates a small section called Camp Canada. This is an Operational Support Hub (OSH). Its only purpose is the logistics of moving equipment and personnel. Targets and Transparency 👇 On March 1, Iran launched retaliatory strikes against bases hosting U.S. and allied forces. One missile impacted the Canadian logistical area. The reality is simple: if you are stationed near U.S. or Israeli assets in the Middle East right now, you are a target due to the law of action and reaction. The Conservative Party @CPC_HQ is currently using this event to attack the government for a lack of transparency. Their approach is irresponsible in a high-stakes military environment. These critics seem to prefer a path that leads to war. The truth is that the 11-day delay in reporting was a calculated decision for force protection. The military used that time to ensure all personnel reached protective bunkers and to relocate troops to more secure positions before going public. Military intelligence is a matter of life and death. It is not a daily gossip magazine, and the @CPC_HQ knows this well. The news is public now precisely because the immediate danger has been managed. If this were a secret, we would not be discussing it today. The government prioritized the lives of the troops over the demands of a news cycle. Every Canadian member at the base is sain et sauf (safe and sound). This safety is the only outcome that truly matters. One might expect the opposition to lead with "thankfully our troops are safe," but they seem more interested in the rage-baiting. ******** Sources Global Affairs Canada: Official statement on Canada’s non-participation in the US-Israel offensive (March 2, 2026). 👉 DND Briefing Department of National Defence (DND): Briefing on the safety of CAF personnel and the success of bunker protocols (March 12, 2026). After this briefing 👆we had this headlines 👇 CTV News: "Ottawa details the 11-day delay in reporting Kuwait strike as a necessity for troop relocation" (March 12, 2026). CBC News: "Military confirms no injuries; James Bezan calls for further transparency on Iran policy" (March 12, 2026). We've known within 24 hours of all deaths. Some details are left out, but the idea that we wouldn't know over a week and a half later is absurd.

@PierrePoilievre AGAIN uses alarming language to suggest a crisis where there is actually global strength. He frames our energy position as a failure to create a sense of urgency. The reality check 👇 Canada is the envy of the G7 because we are a net exporter. Every other G7 nation except for the United States is a net importer. Those countries are forced to spend billions on physical stockpiles just to meet the mandatory 90 day supply rules. Canada is exempt from those requirements because our security exists in the ground as the world’s fourth largest oil producer. Building a government run oil reserve is an enormous taxpayer expense that even previous Conservative governments avoided. It offers very little return for a country that already produces a surplus. The United States maintains its reserve because they do not produce enough of the specific heavy crude their refineries were designed to process. 👉Canada is the primary supplier for those refineries today. A physical tank would store oil that is already moving through our pipeline network to those same customers. Our priority is as it should, growing production and expanding export routes to keep the economy moving. The suggestion to build a mineral reserve is several weeks late. Prime Minister Mark Carney addressed this in the March 2026 budget by launching the $12.1 billion Critical Minerals Production Alliance. This program is already mobilizing capital through the Critical Minerals Sovereign Fund to speed up mining projects and secure supply chains for the next decade of technology. We are currently building the roads and power grids to get these resources to the global market while others are still writing letters about it. ***** Sources Natural Resources Canada: "Canada secures 30 new critical minerals partnerships and unlocks $12.1 billion," March 2, 2026. 🌹🛢️🌏 : Pierre Poilievre puts Mark Carney over a barrel when Carney says Canada is an exporter of oil, not an importer. Pierre reminds Carney that Canada is importing Australian LNG as Liberals reject pipeline project proposals that have been in the works, for several years. Canada imports oil from the USA, UK, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan and several other nations. Even blended oil from Russia. Having a strategic oil reserve in Canada would be a boon to our nation, but not the Carney NET ZERO agenda.
