I’ve had loads of abuse for this, predictably, and plenty of people have accused me of supporting Hezbollah. But no one seems keen to explain why targetting the Lebanese medics who came to help the 3 TV journos was justified.
John Simpson@JohnSimpsonNews

The Geneva Convention says it’s a war crime to target journalists, even if they work for an enemy organisation. It’s also a war crime to target medical workers. After the killing of 3 Lebanese TV journos last week, several medics coming to help them were killed as well.

Maybe, just maybe, the apparently ‘loopy leftists’ at Novara Media have a firmer grip on reality, and politics, than Keir Starmer’s Labour and their Lycra-clad liberal pundit outriders…

V interesting, if depressing, analysis of Labour’s manifesto from @chakrabortty. With such a hunger for real change and the Tories a done deal, what a wasted opportunity to make the radical changes that would create a fairer, more equal society with thriving public services.
Aditya Chakrabortty@chakrabortty

The public is in the mood for change. That's why Labour manifesto is titled simply 'Change' and uses the word over and over. But the great missed opportunity of this moment is that voters are ready for change of a kind that is simply not on offer. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Fomer General Secretary of the Labour Party now voting for @TheGreenParty is pretty huge. Thank you very much for your vote! It's been amazing to see so many new voters & members in this election joining the people powered movement: Join.greenparty.org.uk
Jennie Formby@Jennieformby1

@adrianlitvinoff I’m voting Green, not perfect but much more transformative agenda. And people can’t just keep voting Labour ‘because we’ve got to get the Tories out’. They’re out anyway so we should vote for parties that genuinely represent what we believe in - which may well be Independents.

What a weekend! So many people saying they plan to vote for @sianberry as a strong independent voice for #Brighton, holding a new Labour govt to account, pushing them to be bolder & better, & standing up for our amazing city. Huge thanks to all who joined us on the streets 💚

This is delusional. Brexit has cost the UK £billions in lost trade, investment and growth. It's compounded the Tory cost of living crisis by increasing costs, destroying jobs and squeezing incomes - and it's stripped people's rights away. There are no wins - let alone big ones.

Your energy bill is about to skyrocket and the Tories are lying to you about why. What they won't tell you is there's a plan to create an energy system that's fit for the future. It's called a #GreenNewDeal and it's time for @RishiSunak to introduce it.

Johnson and Sunak are insisting that there is no magic money tree. The slight problem for them in claiming this is that the entire cost of the Covid crisis was covered by money creation by the Bank of England. They created all the money to pay for that crisis out of thin air.

This is what truth to power looks like at Westminster. A liar is allowed to keep his place- I am forced to leave for telling the truth. He misled the house, he must go. Tories must look themselves in the mirror and ask if they can allow this to go on much longer? Remove him now.

Boris Johnson has repeatedly lied and misled Parliament. Everyone knows it. If telling the truth is a punishable offence, then it proves all the more why Scotland needs to escape this corrupt Westminster system.

Boris Johnson's position is now completely untenable. The Prime Minister is guilty of breaking lockdown rules and misleading parliament. He must resign - or be removed from office.
