@GrayCarlton @BillytheBird12 Old Barnwell was 130ish on GD. Understand it’s not top 100. Tree Farm was one spot ahead of OB on GD list. Only place Tree was ranked ahead of OB that I’m aware of anyway. 21 Club just opened, New Holland announced, second course at OB, The Gilroy is slated to open fall 2027.

@PDragan24 Take US total birdies vs. theirs today and tell me what matchup the US could have won. Europe is playing out of their minds.

Hey @CNN @cnnbrk @CNNPolitics @politico @ABC @NBCNews why aren’t you guys making a bigger deal about military veterans being deported after risking their lives for this country? Don’t want to show how piss poor the treatment for PTSD was when he came home with bullets in him?

@devinaknotts @caddietales Had perfect weather. Worst caddie I’ve ever had, but I say it’s the second most overrated, behind Torrey South, because the half of the holes are meh to just plain bad. Torrey and Pebble are the two best pieces of land with the worst golf course architecture in the US.

@caddietales Shocked that 50% thought Pebble was overrated. I think about it almost every day. Maybe they had bad weather when they went, when ours was perfect.

I always think debate about public golf course rankings is hard - I've played so few of the places ranked in the top 100. I can't have much of an opinion. But I do get to hear a lot of opinions from my players l, many of whom have played all over the place. This is some of what I've gleaned... Best buddies golf trip - Bandon Dunes Up and coming buddies golf trip - Sand Valley Overrated - Pebble Beach (according to 50% of my golfers) Mecca - Pebble Beach (according to 50% of my golfers) Hardest greens- Pinehurst Love it or hate it - Tobacco Road Reminds them most of the Straits - Kingsbarns If you love golf history - Must visit the Old Course If you're not a historian - Skip the Old Course Too expensive - Sawgrass Worth the effort - Cabot Links Windy and hard - Ocean Course at Kiawah Just plain hard - Bethpage Black Unique experience - Shadow Creek Growing in popularity as a destination - Nebraska & Missouri Places I don't hear as much about as one might think - Streamsong, Torrey Pines, TPC Scottsdale I can neither confirm nor deny any of these musings!

@RyanBallengee Without kids, I’d go DPWT. Travel is less expensive outside USA, getting to see/experience that many different places is something everyone should do young, and some historic courses to boot. Don’t go to Olive Garden in Fort Wayne, go to Giardino di Ulivi in Florence.

@dcorn101 @caddietales Your clubs click because you use a 14 slot bag that keeps gravity from making them all lay against each other when you’re carrying them. Go to a four slot bag and get a long caddie towel to wrap between them. You’ll never hear them click again and you’ll look like a player. 😉

@caddietales Engineer here. Previous and current bags were 14 slot. Also have iron covers because I hate the clicking of my irons when I carry. Not currently using the covers because I lost one somewhere.

My caddie season ends this weekend 😢 I've been sharing some reflections each day as the end draws near. Here's day 5... -Most stated handicap: 12 -Most stated driving distance: 260-280 -Most likely to have iron covers: Engineers -Most likely to have 14 slot bags: Engineers and accountants 10 most FAQ's from players 1. What do you do in the winter? 2. Do you do two or three loops a day? 3. Does it ever get old? 4. Which hole is the Jordan Spieth hole? 5. Where was DJ's waste bunker? 6. What was your biggest tip? 7. Do you deal with a lot of a-holes? 8. Best and worst golfer? 9. Are you allowed to drink on the course? 10. Do you also have a real job? - Answer to the question of whether it gets old: No Specifically... 1. Seeing an eagle overhead never gets old 2. Sunrises over the lake never get old 3. The calm and beauty of the golden hour never gets old 4. The different shades of blue in the lake never get old 5. Seeing the joy in players never gets old 6. Meeting interesting people never gets old 7. The Caddie Shack never gets old -Most drank beer: Spotted Cow -Most popular non-beer drink: Tranfusion -Percent of players with cigars: 10% -Growing trend: Use of Arccos sensors -Largest gambling loss I saw: $13k -Most used golf ball: ProV1 -Number of blatant cheaters I had: 2 I'll keep providing more reflections through Sunday. Check my account for day 1-4 if you missed them. Before you go though... A bold ask... Help me help you... The winter months aren't as lucrative, as you can imagine. So I will rely on a part-time job at a Sober Living House, along with various side hustles to provide for my family. You can be a part of that by ordering a personalized, signed copy or copies of my book, Caddie Tales. Get for yourself, or as gifts for the golf lovers and caddies in your life. Cost is $35. If I sell 100 by Sunday I'll give away a free round for 2 at Whistling Straits next season. Message me for Venmo or PayPal info and to leave your address. Thanks in advance for a big night! 🙏✌️

@Top100Rick @appletimtri San Francisco Golf is a great example of this, super small and maybe 200 yards max. On the flip side, I was absolutely blown away by the size of the range at Pine Valley. It’s absolutely massive and the short game practice area right next to it is incredible.

@appletimtri Many of these courses were built 100 years ago. They weren’t a priority then and there is no land now to extend.

@Top100Rick I played it on Sep 20th and thought the same thing before driving through the gate having played Arominik the day before. I drove out of the gate wondering how the descriptions of how great it is didn’t do it justice and praying that I’ll be invited back again soon. INCREDIBLE

Pine Valley - #1/World Top 100 1918 - George Crump As a natural contrarian, I drove into Pine Valley skeptical. I wondered if a golf course could truly be a clear cut #1 in the world. I left a believer. Pine Valley is simply the best collection of golf holes on the planet. George Crump rode by the land on the train and realized it could become something special. He enlisted Colt, Tillinghast, CB MacDonald, Walter Travis, and George Thomas to provide advice. Using their help and his own will, he built a shrine. The course is so vast. With 500+ acres of land, every hole feels like its own world. The walk is perfect, you often cut through nature during your walk of dreams, providing a wonderful moment of respite from thinking about your next shot. It’s hard. Really hard. With a 153 slope from the member tees, it is unforgiving. But birdies can be made and if the fairway is found, good rounds are out there. A 10 handicap may shoot 100, but you never feel like shooting your handicap is impossible. (If only we got 10 chances!) You need every club. You can’t let your mind rest for a moment or double bogey is eminent. The hole by hole uniqueness is off the charts, every hole seems like a new story and challenge. The par 3’s are quite possibly the best on earth. Playing 130, 150, 175 downhill, 210 uphill, your irons are tested completely. While it’s very private, guests feel welcome. The staff is phenomenal. The caddies are pros. The agronomy team keeps the course in a state of perfection. The members love to share the course with friends and golf appreciators. Truly one of the best golf experiences a human can have. I could happily write a book about PV, but others, far more capable, have done that already. So I’ll leave it with this: Pine Valley is simply the very best.

Commentary Donald J. Trump Posts From Truth Social
Ohio Democrats and left-wing special interest groups are spending more than $26 million to rig Elections through the Issue 1 redistricting scam. Issue 1 would guarantee that unqualified redistricting commissioners are not accountable to Ohio voters, and would be impossible to remove them if they abuse their power - Issue 1 will cost Ohio taxpayers millions of dollars, and would force the State to pay redistricting commission lawyers unlimited legal expenses, with no accountability. Ohio voters need to stop this Democrat takeover of legislative redistricting. Vote No on Issue 1. Stop the Steal! Donald Trump Truth Social 05:22 PM EST 09/20/24 @realDonaldTrump
