Prospect promotions may be impacted by the upcoming(very likely) strike for 2027 and possibly beyond. If a player is on the 40-man, even a prospect in the minors, they are locked out and lose valuable development time.
Players on milb contracts will still play in 2027.

If I were Dunkin', I would do the following to crush Timmy's:
- Ban the hiring of any TFWs
- Go to local high schools and pass out applications
- Bake all pastries in-house
- Have solid, consistent security trained to immediately intervene when someone sketchy hangs around the doors or drive thru
- Do a "Roll up the Rim"-style giveaway where you don't need a stupid app
- Advertise everything above

@IanBloss Pump the breaks, everyone. Bloss was not throwing well at AAA prior to getting hurt and will be on a significant pitch/inning limit.

So much of this is dependent on Bloss’ stuff returning strong post injury. But if the Jays are getting the same Bloss they got from Houston this dude could be in the rotation in the big leagues. Significantly more upside than they’ve had from other SP5 options

Great news: Jake Bloss has returned to the mound! He struck out four over 2.1 scoreless innings in a rehab outing with the FCL Blue Jays today. It's his first appearance since May 2025 when he suffered a UCL injury that caused him to need surgery.

@maddiecholette But is a broken player who's not producing better than a healthy player who is - just maybe at a lower level than the injured player at their peak?
The Jays run out injured, ineffective players far too often rather than letting them fully heal.

Wonder when the #Bluejays50 activate Yariel would they demote Davis Schneider or DFA Sosa? Logical option is DFA Lauer, mostly because he sucks and a little because he has worn out his welcome. Either option is win win for the Jays!

Good for Mitch Marner.
He proved he couldn't handle the pressure in Toronto.
Any success he has in Vegas doesn't take away the fact he had 9 years to produce for the Leafs and failed to do so.

Yesavage is actually tipping his fastball with runners on. An astute runner at 2B could probably pick it up... something he may need to fix #Bluejays

@GabrielLevin78 I do not disagree. I said at the time of the deal that Sosa was an odd (bad) fit.

@marchulet The problem with Sosa is that he's bad at pretty much everything so there really is no outcome where you can see getting a major league player. I understand not wanting to give up on say, Sanchez who you might hope can put things together but there's just nothing there with Sosa.

I know people are surprised but the club hates to give up assets (Sosa had no milb options) and the club believes in Davis. Plus loosing Sosa after giving up assets for him would make the front office look bad.
Sosa should be gone but it was never going to happen.

Blue Jays activate Addison Barger from IL and option Yohendrick Pinango to triple-A Buffalo to make room. Manager John Schneider called it a “tough decision with his performance” but club factored in “the runway for him … the runway for others.”
