Honest question from someone who has been a @SouthwestAir A-List Preferred flyer and loyalist for more than a decade: what’s the case for flying SWA now? With the abolition of open seating and “Bag Fly Free” SWA is now just another legacy carrier—albeit one without true first class, lounges, or meaningful international routes. The “new” Southwest offers all the downside but none of the upside of Delta/United/American. What’s SWA’s best argument why I shouldn’t park my butt at AA’s Admirals Club at DFW while waiting for my assigned seat from here on out? Persuade me.

I just happen to be flying on @SouthwestAir today on their first day of assigned seating. They have figured out a system to generate additional funds. They auto assigned me middle seats on both flights. I ask the agent can I get a non middle seat? She says yes but there is a fee. I'm obviously not paying extra for something I always got free on the old system. Southwest had a niche in the market. Free checked bags, and flexible seating. They ditched both of those concepts and now are like any other airline, but with even higher seat and luggage fees than the competition. I would short Southwest stock if I knew how to do that. No one here at the airport likes the "new system".

Reconcile your 1099-DA with your crypto tax software reports BEFORE filing. Getting an IRS notice means delays, stress, and potential penalties you could have easily avoided.

Reflecting at Joshua tree about the $trump launch. My friend Ben called me and asked if the Trump launch was real. I checked truth social and then saw posts about the supply being 80% locked and remember thinking 1b valuation for our future president launch was low. Everything was nuking. I knew only one thing. This was a true pve event. Everyone would sell everything in order to get into the trade. So I did the only logical thing I could do. I sold all my pnut, I sold all my ai16z, I sold all my bags in order to chuck in 4m in trump around 4-5$. At one point, I was up 70m on the trade. I look back at where I am now and ask myself why i never sold the whole bag after the Melania launch. If Melania had just been delayed one more day, I would’ve sold everything at 100$ trump and had 100m or some shit. It’s a shame. Multiple chances to sell as after robinhood listing, it bounce back to ath too. Ended up selling much lower around 20-30$. Still one of the greatest trades of my life. The stupidity to hold the bag to the top, I’ll never forget.
