Pretty clear John Breagan murdered Kelso Cochrane 10 days after he was released from prison in 1959 for stabbing 3 black men “If I do time for this, when I come out I’ll kill the first N***** I see. I mean that too” but police worried about race riots covered it up @Sanchia7

Offenders jailed for sex crimes, violence or terrorism would be excluded from the scheme, as would any offender subject to Parole Board decisions upon their release

Labour consider plan to release prisoners after 40% of sentence served due to over crowding. I hope this won’t apply to pedophiles and rapists. Maybe build more prisons rather than build more houses for illegal immigrants. theguardian.com/society/articl…

Release of prisoners early is a very good idea most of the people in prison are NOT there for violence offences against the public so the 40/60/100 day early releases are a good vision. But again not thought through - there are now more recalls as probation/housing/employment hubs in prisons can’t keep up so men/women have no fixed abroad so they reoffend - roof above their heads and a job stop reoffends - fact
