Trying Turface as a growing medium. Inside the boxes we have established a grid framework with fishing line in the hopes that we will be able to preserve & see how the roots of the various specie interact. Slide show represents 10 days of growth. @LarryMattYork your thoughts?

@DrMicroWill @courtney_herms @RhizoVision Also worth considering turning the root prune threshold up higher still, as long as the smallest lateral roots you are interested in are not filtered out too!

@courtney_herms @RhizoVision Hmmm, I haven’t thought too much about that. A more severe smoothing value may bring the diameter closer? eyeballing it, it doesn’t look outrageously far off. I think this will always be a concern when scanning whole systems vs. drawing them by hand. maybe others know best

He @RhizoVision, we are pumped to switch from winrhizo (yay open source software!) but having problems with hairy roots = lots of short root segments despite high root pruning threshold. Any suggestions?

I'm at the Danforth Plant Science Center in St. Louis. After my seminar presentation, we toured the X-ray microscope. We can see the root cell nondestructively in high resolution. It’s wonderful. And in the evening we had a wonderful dinner party. Thank you, Chris and Keith.
