We are living at a tragic time when the fact that the American government does something makes it no less - and sometimes even more - suspect. ICE is a private paramilitary, the detainment centers are a massive private prison-building scam, and the entire enterprise is a white nationalist agenda whose express purpose is to dismantle our democratic system.

They kept dancing outside the stadium! — felt like a direct rebuke, but also a celebration of the simple fact of being alive: Of dancing rather than scowling.
