Memory Lane, Glasgow

Took this in May 2018 outside Glasgow Central. Loved the old Wimpy ghost sign and the stonework around the windows. Sad ending. It became the vape shop that caught fire today and caused the total building to collapse. Another sad ending to Glasgow architecture and history.

Trying to provoke both a world war and a civil war at the same time while demanding a Nobel Peace prize is a level of insanity we’ve never seen ever before.

More than 200,000 Danish citizens have signed a petition to buy California as a response to Trump’s attempt to take Greenland. They say they will provide Californians with “rule of law, universal health care, fact-based politics, and a lifetime supply of Danish pastries.”

Randomly came across a Disney artist I hadn’t heard of, Frans Van Lamsweerde in one of those posts that casually mentions “My father was an artist at Disney.” And my follow up, “What was his name?” Followed by the unfamiliar name, followed by a Google search. And then, “Holy Cow!” Lamsweerde was at the Disney Studios around 1950-1954 and provided backgrounds for among other things, Peter Pan, although uncredited. Pictured here are some of the Christmas cards he created over the years.

It’s happening again I fear

Every one of the great dystopian novels begins with the premise that the majority of people can no longer read. That dystopia is here. Billions of dollars have been spent to ensure most folks are too distracted ever to pick up a book. A nation that won't read soon forgets how.
