Wes Streeting has just said out loud what John Healey wrote between the lines: Starmer recognises the threats, but refuses to fund the response – so his Defence Secretary walks, his Health Secretary publicly rebukes him, and the generals and NATO partners are left watching a British Prime Minister who can’t or won’t make a call on basic defence spending. This isn’t “grown up government”, it’s strategic paralysis dressed up as fiscal virtue, and it leaves Britain signalling weakness to allies and adversaries alike.

Think about how extreme this moment is: a loyal Defence Secretary resigns because Starmer’s defence plan doesn’t match the threat picture, then a leadership rival goes on Sky News to accuse him of not listening to his own ministers, military chiefs or NATO allies. When your internal critics are warning that 2.68% by 2030 “won’t touch the sides” while Germany heads for 3.7%, you don’t have a policy tweak issue – you have a Prime Minister who is now the weakest link in the Western security chain.

Your SNP campaigned to stop further exploration/exploitation of the North Sea and opposed new nuclear power stations in Scotland. So what exactly are you on about?
Jackie Dunbar SNP@JackieDunbarSNP

The Tories barely lifted a finger as 70,000 oil & gas jobs were lost on their watch, but signed-off on nuclear powers plants in England costing £87 billion Meanwhile, @theSNP @scotgov's Just Transition Fund is investing £500 million to support energy jobs in North East Scotland

Hurty words on social media will bring the police to your door. But when a landlord discovered a cannabis farm in her property, officers didn't want to know. Welcome to two-tier Britain. dailysceptic.org/2026/06/16/i-d…

When Labour MPs like @labourlewis & Lib Dem’s like @EdwardJDavey say trans women (males) are no danger to women in changing rooms & bathrooms they always conveniently forget about the 60% plus of those males already in prison who ID as women, in for sexual assault against …Women!

➡️Two men pretending to be women both jailed for sex crimes on the same day in UK. One for n0ncery. One for m@sturbating in front of nurses. And that was just Monday! It's almost like these men are just raging perverts isn't it. But OF COURSE it NEVER HAPPENS! This is trans.

If the Government really wanted to protect kids, they’d stop allowing suspended sentences for paedophiles. They’d stop letting off knife and sword carriers with suspended sentences too. THIS BAN IS ABOUT CONTROL AND YOUR DATA.

As an old school liberal, I fundamentally believe in individual and community freedom. I am completely opposed to big government trying to enforce their often nefarious rules upon society. Governments should serve, not rule. They should fix the genuine problems in the country rather than tying everyone up with controlling, surveillance, restrictions and punishments. And sadly, this is the Labour government in a nutshell.

Two powerful resignation speeches from John Healey and Al Carns on the Commons this afternoon, confirming that they represent the best of the Labour Party.

John Healey just did something almost no serving defence secretary ever does: he detonated the government’s entire defence narrative on the floor of the Commons, then walked out. He spelled out that Labour’s Defence Investment Plan offers just a 0.08% rise in spending between next year and 2030, with no date for reaching 3% of GDP and no path to 3.5% – even as more than half of NATO will be at or above 3% by 2030. Then came the killer line: “Our adversaries don’t follow timetables set by the Treasury.” In one sentence he blew apart Starmer’s claim that you can run defence on Reeves’s fiscal spreadsheet and hope Putin, Iran and Beijing adjust their calendars. If your own defence secretary has to resign to say your plan is “well short of what is required” in a “perilous moment”, you don’t have a defence strategy – you have a political time bomb with “Prime Minister Starmer” written on it.

🚨BREAKING: A number of people have stepped forward to claim that a Government Organisation named RICU hide the truth from the British people whenever a migrant attack happens and manage the response This includes writing statements for bereaved families to read out 😳

Reform UK will reverse Reeves’ disastrous rise in the rate of Employers’ National Insurance. But we’ll do this for British workers only. We’ll fund this by introducing the Employer Migrant Labour Levy. Businesses will have to pay an annual fee for each migrant worker. It’ll hit unskilled migrant workers much, much harder than high skilled ones. Along with our migration and welfare reforms, this will see millions of migrants we don’t need leave. And get millions of Brits off welfare and into work.

In what way is the viewer experience different if the BBC is in Salford commenting on a match in Boston 3,000 miles away and ITV is in Brooklyn commenting on a match on California, 3,000 miles away?
Kevin Hollinrake MP@kevinhollinrake

The @BBC has its World Cup presenters in a Salford studio whilst ITV will be live from New York. Licence fee payers deserve better. The BBC has trebled the number of people earning more than £100k in the last 5 years. Any good business would make cuts to senior management, not the viewer experience.

I am a proud Scot. I love being Scottish. And massive kudos to the Tartan Army in Boston. They are magnificent ambassadors for Scotland at the World Cup. Boston has fallen in love with them. They are making everyone feel proud of them and the country they are representing. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
