@ricfranco @KTLA @NBCLA Judging by the 'stop ahead' marking on street, I'm guessing it's around 18425 Wakecrest

The book "Shopping All the Way to the Woods" by Rachel Gross is a great look at how outdoor lifestyles are wrapped up in performative virtue signaling. And how even at the turn of the 20th century, people looked at the distant past and moaned about how things used to be better.

You can still do this

@HeerJeet feeling betrayed that deep-blue Asheville, where I live, has been devastated by a friendly-fire hurricane. Dems must develop laser-guided 'smart' weather disasters

Water and supposedly food being handed out at the Black Mtn Ingles momentarily. Car lines are extremely long, but if you come on foot, the line is short.

Evan Fisher@EFisherWX
Downtown Black Mtn has a lot of resources for people in need. Temporary cell tower by the fire department. Hot food and some water. Lots of people walking/biking to town.

Thinking back 8 yrs to speaking @zingermans @campbacon- the best food history conference there is. From @Johnubacon’s story of his college landlady cooking for him cuz he “opened” rather than “made” food. @mark_essig on pig history, bacon professor @StateCuratorIA & lotsa bacon!

@pcoviell back at you from clear and not quite so chilly Asheville. And Merry Christmas as well--eat a fish or 7 for me!
English

@mark_essig ahhhhhh my friend that is very happy to see indeed! here’s sending you a lot of love from bright and chilly Chicago xoxo
English

@pcoviell Look what I found on the shelf at Malaprop's! Now in my backpack. Helluva title, sharp jacket design, can't wait to read

English

@SplinteredSpace @the_dadchef One reason is that pigs are omnivores that have often lived as scavengers, happily eating garbage, shit, carrion, even human corpses. Some people find that unappetizing. If you want a more complicated answer, have I got the book for you.
English

@the_dadchef Idk but @mark_essig wrote a book about pigs called "Lesser Beasts". Very good book about history etc.

@DekeArndt something tells me the employee quite enjoyed that exchange

@in_ternationale I use an auto-delete tool that wipes out all my old tweets, so it's gone. Sorry.

@jeremystark certainly not in my experience, though there's no reason the Panepinto family couldn't breed up such a creature
