@MacNewmanMIZ @ChandrikaCC Good call Mac, there are many strategies involved with Benoits methods so it can be applied more.

@DonahueMama @ChandrikaCC Agreed Amanda, but sometimes the mistake can be too big to recover from and you simply can’t take blame if you wish to still have a decent reputation.

Situation Crisis Comm Theory focuses on responsibility, Image Restoration Theory focuses on message options. Organizations should admit when they have made a mistake and not waste time with avoidance. My vote is for SCCT.

@ChandrikaCC #CrisisImage #MUCrisisComm Benoit talks of the responsibility of the event, versus Coombs talks of how to make a message that will repair or maintain a company’s reputation. Benoit’s method is necessary at times but I like Coombs.

@kellybrennermu @ChandrikaCC Yes, mental health issues could be much more minor, that article makes it seem as if someone with mental health issues is a threat.

@ChandrikaCC This newspaper cover is an example of a stigmatized message. It's connected to the mental health crisis & it may be considered stigmatizing because not every person with mental health issues is going to do something bad #StigmaMessage #MUCrisisComm

@MacNewmanMIZ @ChandrikaCC Hey Mac great point, I personally am Ukrainian but I used to be stigmatized as being a Russian since they are similar countries.

The pressure to get the vaccine during this pandemic was huge, those who chose to not get the vaccine were stigmatized and denied access to places. Many of who chose not to get it were not vulnerable to the virus.

@TSappington3 Right, I think the second most important principle could be be right. The formula company messed up and they cannot afford to do that again.
English

The most important CERC Principle is Be First. Initial communication consumers see regarding Abbott's recall of baby formula is enough to motivate and stop them from purchasing/consuming the listed brands until details and actions are determined. #CERCPrinciples #MUCrisisComm

@DonahueMama @ChandrikaCC Hey Amanda, I think public relations are great and to my understanding the most common and therefore a great field to be involved in.

Of Sandman's four type of risk communication, I would choose Public Relations. I view that as inspirational media and I would use my skills to create messages that inspire viewers to care about and take action on causes.

@marybrooksmu @ChandrikaCC Hey Mary, I said the same thing being kindhearted is a tremendous talent and especially great for this department!

Of Sandman’s four types of risk communication, I would choose to head the Outrage Management department. This is low hazard but high outrage. I am an empathetic listener and would be able to listen to their concerns and respond accordingly. @ChandrikaCC #Reaction2

@ChandrikaCC Out of Sandman's four types of risk communication I would choose outrage management, which is low hazard high outrage. I have worked in food and very often have to deal with outraged people and believe I am efficient at defusing upset individuals. #reactiontweet2
