History repeats itself. The American people gave President Trump his 7 swing state victory & mandate so that it wouldn’t. @LindseyGrahamSC , @tedcruz , all of the voices who were wrong about the Iraq War & wrong about every major foreign policy issue of the last 25 years are going on TV screaming unsubstantiated claims that Iran is 5 min away from an operational nuclear weapon. They’ve been saying that for 30 years. The New York Times has been saying it since 1995. It’s an unsubstantiated claim - just like the ‘Iraq has WMDs, we have to invade now’ lie used to sell the costly Iraq War. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, a soldier herself who deployed to combat in the Iraq War, said under oath as recently as March 2025 that the U.S Intelligence assessment is Iran is not close to a nuclear weapon. She has not publicly changed that assessment & has no incentive to lie. Every voice in the media trying to persuade President Trump to betray his promise to the American people of no new wars must answer: which American troop units would you like to see die first in Iran? The 1st Brigade, 1st Amored Division of Fort Bliss, TX that lost 133 men KIA in Iraq? The 3rd Infantry Division of Fort Stewart, GA that lost 135 men KIA in Iraq? The 1st Battalian, 133rd Infantry Regiment of the Iowa National Guard that saw its longest & bloodiest deployment in Iraq since WWII? War always has a high human cost - that is never born by & often intentionally concealed by the politicians who scream the loudest for it. The USA has nothing to gain from getting involved in another war in the Middle East. Young strong Americans will die early deaths, gas prices will go up as oil rises, China would love seeing us distracted in yet another costly prolonged conflict, and President Trump’s entire domestic agenda of mass deportations for illegal immigrants & tariffs to rebuild the American middle class will be totally derailed by the distraction of war. President Trump is a chess player. I pray all of this is an elaborate ruse to get Iran to fold like Reagan did with the USSR. The real purpose of Iran’s nuclear program for the last 30 years has been a savvy insurance policy & deterrent against what it privately fears most, but won’t publicly say: a regime change operation by the United States. They watched what happened in Iraq, Syria, Libya, & their own country in 1953. They are smart not to want it & we should be smart not to wage it.
