Margaret Connolly, on RTÉ Six One News “My heart lies with the Palestinian people. We’ve had 800 years of colonisation by England. Why wouldn’t I go on the flotilla?” Neither of the Connolly sisters have said a word about the massacre of 40,000 Iranian citizens over a couple of days by the IRGC mullah regime.

Huge crowds of Irish republicans today gathered at the statue of Bobby Sands in Twinbrook ahead of his 45th anniversary. The powerful legacy of all the hunger strikers continues to inspire us as we work towards a new, united Ireland. An Phoblacht abú!

Today at 2pm we will gather at the Bobby Sands Statue in Twinbrook to mark the 45th anniversary of Bobby Sands. Let’s come together as a proud and united community, to honour the memory of the hunger strikers as we work towards our vision of a new and united Ireland.

All over Belfast you now see people proudly wearing GAA tops - unthinkable when I was young due to fears of violence. It truly is becoming a shared city where all identities can be cherished.

Irish comedian Tadhg Hickey goes on a rant blaming the “only Jewish State” for the stabbing in London today. He says the “whole population” of Israel is genocidal as seeming justification for the attacks. He claims he’s not a psychopath. From what he said I’m not so sure.

Disturbing reports that @gbsumudflotilla ships carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza have been surrounded by military personnel and vessels identifying as the IDF off the coast of Crete. Irish citizens are part of this aid mission and they should be allowed safe passage @dfatirl

I'm sure this has absolutely nothing to do with Brian Feeney's desire for a united Ireland. 🙄 Feeney doesn't want Stormont or Northern Ireland to be successful and neither does Sinn Fein because that success undermines their stated objective. They are ideologically incompatible with a political system that should be striving to succeed. How can anyone be a cheerleader for Northern Ireland and at the same time be actively working towards its demise? I don't fear or loathe Sinn Fein. I have absolutely no respect for them and I don't trust them. Their position on terrorism is hypocritical and morally bankrupt and that has to be factored into an assessment on everything else they say or do. Any political party that excuses the actions of a terrorist group responsible for mass murder, has no moral authority. That's not fear of Sinn Fein, that's contempt for a deviant subculture.
The Irish News@irish_news

'It's time for Sinn Féin to give up on this failing assembly' Irish News columnist Brian Feeney believes something needs to change ahead of the next assembly election in 2027. It follows Sinn Féin's ard fheis at the weekend, which saw senior party figures calling out the DUP. Feeney says the party underestimates the DUP’s 'fear and loathing' of them.
