@PatrickDailey Isn't it a stretch to call Chelsea his team? It's a Clearlake Capital investment along with Todd Boehly, and Todd Boehly is the chairperson of the club, not José. The articles seem to point to this being him buying the team not a Clearlake Capital purchase.

I’m excited to see what Joe Feliciano will do with our Padres. But under no circumstances would I ever root for his other team, the blue twats of London.

In the light of #Easter, let us allow ourselves to be amazed by Christ! Let us allow our hearts to be transformed by his immense love for us! Let those who have weapons lay them down! Let those who have the power to unleash wars choose peace! Not a peace imposed by force, but through dialogue! Not with the desire to dominate others, but to encounter them!

Seems like a pretty good hire to me. Each of the past three Utah St hires came from mid/low major schools (UMBC, Montana St, Youngstown St) and each of those coaches won 20+ games and made the NCAAT.
Jeff Goodman@GoodmanHoops

Utah State is expected to hire UNI head coach Ben Jacobson, source told @thefieldof68. Jacobson, 55, has been the head coach at UNI since 2006 and has won 397 games in his time with the Panthers. Jacobson went to back-to-back NCAA tournaments in 2015 and 2016, and took UNI to the tourney this season.

19 years ago, a high school basketball coach put his team manager into a game for the final four minutes. The kid had never played a single minute of competitive basketball in his life. He scored 20 points. Jason McElwain was diagnosed with severe autism at age two. He didn’t speak until he was five. He couldn’t chew solid food until he was six. He wore a nappy for most of his early childhood. As a baby, he was rigid, wouldn’t make eye contact, and hid in corners away from other children. He tried out for his school basketball team every year and got cut every time. Too small. Too slight. Barely 5’6 and about 54 kilograms. But he loved the game so much that his mum called the school and asked if there was any way he could be involved. The coach created a team manager role for him. For three years, McElwain showed up to every practice and every game. He wore a shirt and tie on match days. He ran drills, handed out water, kept stats, and cheered every basket like he’d scored it himself. On 15 February 2006, the last home game of his final school year, the coach let him suit up in a proper jersey and sit on the bench. With four minutes left and a comfortable lead, the coach sent him in. His first shot missed. His second missed. Then something shifted. He hit a three-pointer. Then another. Then another. His teammates stopped shooting entirely and just kept passing him the ball. He hit six three-pointers and a two-pointer. 20 points in four minutes. The highest scorer in the game. When the final buzzer went, the entire crowd rushed the court and lifted him onto their shoulders. His mum tapped the coach on the shoulder, in tears. “This is the nicest gift you could have ever given my son.” McElwain won the ESPY Award for Best Moment in Sports that year, beating out some of the biggest names in professional sport. He’s 36 now. He works at a local supermarket, coaches basketball, has run 17 marathons including five Boston Marathons, and travels the country speaking about never giving up. When asked about that night, his coach still gets emotional. “For him to come in and seize the moment like he did was certainly more than I ever expected. I was an emotional wreck.”

Wyoming beat Grand Canyon. IN Phoenix. On the bright side, we don’t really need to pay attention to KenPom or NET anymore.

After weeks of nobodies, SDSU gets an A+ officiating crew for tonight's game at Grand Canyon: Keith Kimble (ranked No. 2 in Kenpom ref ratings), Brian Dorsey (5) and Jeffrey Anderson (11). Kimble and Dorsey were in LA for UCLA-Purdue last night; Anderson worked Rutgers at Iowa.

I have no idea how you call that foul in that spot. I haven't seen the replay but I don't think I need to.

@GeoffGrammer The way I always put it: you may not like it but you have to accept a decision like that based off process not result. Process made perfect sense, result was unlucky. (Some people will never be able to accept this)

I know this may surprise some of you, but apparently I've upset some Lobo fans with my reporting on the decision to foul late backfiring on UNM at a crucial juncture of the game. And while it doesn't matter to my job, I actually agreed with the call. (this is one of the nicer messages I got about it)
