@alexjohnward @LN_onthewall @astupidmoose If you can’t see the difference by now, I don’t have the time to explain it to you. So I guess just enjoy your shitcoin unless you figure it out some other way.
English

@markfakelast @LN_onthewall @astupidmoose Calories cost money, I don't know what communist utopia you live in where energy is free.
English

@alexjohnward @LN_onthewall @astupidmoose You know that’s a terrible analogy. Caloric cost is not financial. It’s a false equivalence. And using the 😂 emoji following a strawman is a strong symbol of the lack of seriousness/sincereity. I was hoping you’d have some intellectual honesty, but clearly I hoped for too much✌️
English

@markfakelast @LN_onthewall @astupidmoose You think feeless is a propaganda word?
Free could also be considered a propaganda word - if your mum said "go for a walk Mark, it's free" would you accuse her of running a conspiracy to hide the calorific cost of walking?😂
English

@alexjohnward @LN_onthewall @astupidmoose You may not care what I specifically think (congrats?), but that word was selected for the propaganda specifically because it misleads people (not just me) to think that you mean that transactions are free. It’s pretty cool tech. Just be more honest about it.
English

@markfakelast @LN_onthewall @astupidmoose I genuinely don't care what you think when I say feeless, other than it's feeless.
English

@alexjohnward @LN_onthewall @astupidmoose Do you genuinely not realize that when you say a transaction is“feeless”, people think you mean that it’s free to send? It’s misleading at best, though it may be unintentional in your part.
English

@markfakelast @LN_onthewall @astupidmoose What's a standard fee?
A fee is paid to a third party, there is no standard third party in a p2p transaction.
English

@alexjohnward @LN_onthewall @astupidmoose Oh, and yeah, my solution to the LN thing, I did just make up. But you made up the problem. Unless you have evidence?
English

@alexjohnward @LN_onthewall @astupidmoose So, when you say “feeless”, you mean that the cost of sending a transaction doesn’t look like a standard fee. It’s more like a hidden fee.
English

@alexjohnward @LN_onthewall @astupidmoose What cost are you talking about? Does it include compute power, electricity for that compute power, etc? At least you finally admit that it’s not free to send Nano and that the propaganda just uses a narrow definition of “fee”.
Simply refuse feeless for isolated “nodes”, or cap
English

@markfakelast @LN_onthewall @astupidmoose Opportunity cost, nano transactions are not free.
I didn't move the goalposts, I explained how it works, and you said you could get around it, explain how.
English

@w_s_bitcoin @AlmostHeavenWV_ And @Square is currently paying a reward ($25 per new merchant, I believe) to anyone who gets a merchant with a Square terminal to accept Bitcoin for the first time. I think it was @milessuter who tweeted about this last week.
English

@FinFreedom414 @A5T3R0lD Do you think it’s only introverts that choose A? The difference seems to be more about family than friends.
English

@A5T3R0lD Hey to each their own. Some people are introverted, I respect that. That’s not at all how I am though.
English

Imagine you had to choose your life at age 40:
Option A:
Single. No kids.
$10M net worth.
Travel anywhere. Total freedom.
Quiet house. Quiet holidays.
Option B:
Married. 3 kids.
$1M net worth.
Drive a Toyota. Chaos every morning.
Loud house. Full dinner table.
Be honest, which life are you choosing?
English

@alexjohnward @LN_onthewall @astupidmoose What is the cost of sending a transaction?
As for LN, you’re moving the goalpost
English

@markfakelast @LN_onthewall @astupidmoose Feeless is accurate, there are no fees.
I am not wrong about lightning, how would you send me a payment without fees if my channel was only connected to my node that charges fees?
English

@alexjohnward @LN_onthewall @astupidmoose I first learned of Nano in 2017. “Feeless” isn’t accurate. It’s just not “fees” in the traditional sense.
Either way, you still refuse to acknowledge you were wrong about the LN thing.
English

@markfakelast @LN_onthewall @astupidmoose Just because you don't know something has been running for 10 years without you knowing doesn't mean it doesn't exist, nano is a feeless payment network.
English

@TomerAshur @projecteleven Yes. Not everybody, but the ones who discuss HD wallets and post-quantum, say that they’re incompatible. It would be real nice if that’s not the case though, so this is potentially very good news
English

@projecteleven Did they actually say it couldn't be done tho?
English

They said it couldn’t be done.
But they aren’t Project Eleven.
Our latest work proves that HD wallets can survive the transition to post-quantum cryptography.

English

@alexjohnward @LN_onthewall @astupidmoose There’s no such thing as a feeless payment network, but I understand your inclination to spout talking points rather than admit that you’re wrong on a topic.
English

@Riric65 @Qoppa90 @Keroppo @ProtonDrive If you’re implying that I’m a bot, this trope has gone too far.
English

@alexjohnward @LN_onthewall @astupidmoose Seems like the solution would be to deduct that fee from the payout rather than a percent fee for every payout. In fact, if that attack worked before, instituting a % fee wouldn’t solve it. You could for example, send 100 sats, pay 4 sats, charge 50 sats from your node.
English

@markfakelast @LN_onthewall @astupidmoose Not if you setup your wallet with only your node connected.
English

@alexjohnward @LN_onthewall @astupidmoose That would only work if you could force them to use your routing node. There’s lots of routing nodes out there
English

@markfakelast @LN_onthewall @astupidmoose If I run the routing node to my LN connection, I collect the fee, and I can set the fee at whatever I like.
English

@ProtonDrive @ProtonDrive Please take down this bad joke. It’s barely funny and it’s a joke about you invading the privacy of your users. At least, I hope you’re only joking.
English

@Qoppa90 @Keroppo @ProtonDrive Yeah, kinda like a police department’s X account making jokes about killing innocent people’s dogs
