For this decade, I really think I want JSON and YAML modules as part of Perl core since that's most of what I'm moving around in automated testing and other places. We aren't passing around unstructured text or bespoke formats like it's 1987.

This thread highlights one of the key differences between the design processes behind #Raku and #Perl. Raku's design all came from the question "What could I build if I could basically start again from scratch? What ideas might I have? How do I build a coherent whole from (1/2)

More seriously, the whole approach is Platonic. The Good is some perfection that we compare imperfect concretes to. Concretes are good insofar as they resemble this perfection. But whereas Plato saw the Good as an other-worldly abstractions, religionists see it as an other-worldly concrete. This approach defines out of existence an Aristotelian approach, where the good is not some abstract perfection, but an abstract standard we use to guide us in the achievement of a rational ultimate value. That's the approach I take here: earthlyidealism.com/p/solving-hist…

Twitter is shutting down our integration. They did not provide a schedule (or even working links to more info). I’m working on the Mastodon replacement now: github.com/lobsters/lobst… You should immediately switch to following @lobsters" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">botsin.space/@lobsters to continue reading.

@john_bokma OK, I’m breaking my Twitter silence because I see (an entirely different selection of?) these “greatest hits” blogs on @j3b" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">mastodon.social/@j3b but you don’t respond there. In a word, why? Especially because you seem to post up-to-date material at plurrrr.com

@petvas I received an email directly from @flexibits back on December 1. Perhaps you did as well? “Subscription pricing for Flexibits Premium will increase (due to inflation and rising costs) on January 3, 2023. You will not be charged the new price until your subscription renews.”
