🚨 THOMAS MASSIE just said what MILLIONS are thinking out loud: "When I endorsed him, I thought we wouldn't have a new war." "I thought we would get warrants for FISA." "I thought that MAHA would be front and center at HHS with Bobby Kennedy there." "I thought we would end our involvement in the war in Ukraine." "I thought we would release all the Epstein files and indict some of those SOBs." "Those are all the things I'm still fighting for." The ONLY guy in DC who actually MEANT it. No new wars. Audit the spies. Release the files. Don't tread on Massie. 🦍 🟧

JT, this failure was not caused by GOP messaging by those who understood the real, ugly harms/goals being set by the new Dem leaders. It was very clear that an unstoppable purging of moderate/conservative dems and republicans in King county was occurring and that the Dems/elites were moving to crazy. No ‘better’ messaging or negotiations can stop crazy

Republicans have constantly failed in King County and statewide elections using the "Everything is Terrible" and "Seattle Sucks" message and in order to help correct the situation they need to revise that and understand that they have to make room for people who want Seattle to succeed. It's difficult to do politically because the Seattle Sucks message is popular outside King County.

Couldn’t agree more. All about trajectory. With solid leadership 95% of the issues could be fixed in 12 months. But man, the trajectory is scary. And if you think the “problems” are brutal just wait til you see the “fixes”! Oppose the income tax now or pay it later
aviel@aviel

We’ve kind of lost the plot of the story of Seattle on here haven’t we? Everything isn’t awful and everything isn’t great. Never is. This story is about momentum. Anyone telling you something different either has a bone to pick or a dollar to make. What’s incredible is that the former and latter are pretty consistent across party lines.

@docMJP Add the Therapeutic/medical/gov't social justice industrial complex to this group. Ever since I started reading Chris Lasch while getting a Clinical Psych degree, I fully believe these helping systems are fundamentally for decades. They are virtually impossible to reform.

Outside church and family, you have two institutions to directly produce and shape excellent human beings and worthy citizens: education and media. In different ways, the people who run those institutions must share that overarching vision towards truth and beauty. They don’t.

Read this, Bishop Barron got it right. Pope Francis has not criticized President Trump directly and only preached the teachings of Jesus Christ-- "Blessed are the Peacemakers..."--which is his mission. President Trump needs to work with Catholics and people of goodwill in truth and good faith to solve the problems he articulates rather than these types of inflammatory comments. President Trump AND the world will both win if that type of leadership happens.
Bishop Robert Barron@BishopBarron

The statements made by President Trump on Truth Social regarding the Pope were entirely inappropriate and disrespectful. They don’t contribute at all to a constructive conversation. It is the Pope’s prerogative to articulate Catholic doctrine and the principles that govern the moral life. In regard to the concrete application of those principles, people of good will can and do disagree. I would warmly recommend that serious Catholics within the Trump administration–Secretary Rubio, Vice President Vance, Ambassador Brian Burch, and others–might meet with Vatican officials so that a real dialogue can take place. This is far preferable to the statements on social media. I am very grateful for the many ways that the Trump administration has reached out to Catholics and other people of faith. It has been a high honor to serve on the Religious Liberty Commission. No President in my lifetime has shown a greater dedication to defending our first liberty. All that said, I think the President owes the Pope an apology.

Someone who emerges with great credit from the Iran crisis is Pope Leo, who waited to issued a specific condemnation of US policy until President Trump made a threat that was clearly incompatible with a just war. He did so based on the prospect of apocalyptic disaster rather than as part of a papal political crusade against the US administration – a fantasy propagated by ultra-partisan liberal Catholics. Leo doesn’t approve of Trump, we can assume, but unlike his predecessor he’s responsible and even-handed in the exercise of his authority on the international stage.

@KIRONewsradio I was a state senator in Washington. Eric was the only mainstream media clearly reporting on the drug and homelessness crisis. The response by the activists was immoral and dishonest!

The Sacrament of Reconciliation restores our unity with God through the forgiveness of sins and the infusion of sanctifying grace. This generates the inner unity of the person and unity with the Church. It fosters peace and unity within the human family. One might ask: do those Christians who bear serious responsibility in armed conflicts have the humility and courage to make a serious examination of conscience and to go to confession?

Pope Leo on Iran: "Deeply disturbing news continues to arrive from Iran and the entire Middle East. In addition to the episodes of violence and devastation as well as the widespread climate of hatred and fear, there is also the concern that the conflict will spread and that other countries in the region, including beloved Lebanon, may again sink back into instability. We lift up our humble prayer to the Lord, so that the thunderous sound of bombs may cease, weapons may fall silent, and a space for dialogue may open up in which the voice of the people can be heard. I entrust this intention to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Peace, that she may intercede for those who suffer because of war and lead hearts along the paths of reconciliation and hope."

What Aquinas says about immigration was common sense and the common wisdom of the Church for the last 2000 years. What we see now is a regrettable, silly, ridiculous blip in Church history that will eventually pass but stand as a disturbing example of what always happens when Christianity is distorted by political power.
FischerKing@FischerKing64

Incidentally, here is Thomas Aquinas discussing the problem of foreigners becoming citizens. Last I checked, Aquinas is still highly regarded among Catholic intellectuals.

BIshop Barron hit it right on the head. The Democrat party (especially in WA state) has embraced an ideology is destroying our culture and as result Christianity with this ugly ideology. Democrats, who still embrace truth and justice must recognize this and make the needed changes to culture and their party before it is too late.
Bishop Robert Barron@BishopBarron

A recent statement by Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez illuminates the Marxist ideology which continues to take hold of American politicians. Here are my thoughts.
