Seeing too much hindsight bias against that Pacers trade in reaction to the lottery If you thought it was too much for Zubac at the time, you are more than welcome to bash them right now. But I saw it as a calculated risk at the time & won’t change my tone based on the outcome It hardly impacts their chances at competing for a championship in 2027 anyway. Top 4 pick was a luxury, not a necessity imo

I'm really sorry to all our fans. I own taking this risk. Surprised it came up 5th after this year. I thought we were due some luck. But please remember - this team deserved a starting center to compete with the best teams next year. We have always been resilient.

The obvious best case scenario was the chance at having a top 4 pick and Zu on the roster That didn't come true and that's a bummer but I'm not going to crucify them for making the trade Especially when the logic points to them trading that pick for a center if they had it 🤷🏻‍♂️

@markpieper1974 @APH00PS @espn you guys had no reason to make that trade in the middle of the season and risk losing your pick, that 5th pick is more valuable in a trade than Zubac alone rn or even then.

@Carsobi @IndianaPaincers I agree. Zu is way better than Turner and we made the finals with Turner. Some people losing it not getting a pick but we are better next year with everybody back.

The Pacers move was always gonna be judged based on a coin flip. If it went their way, it'd be a genius win-win. If it didn't, it'd be seen as reckless. It did not go their way, which hurts! But I don't think it's a disaster. Zu really strengthens them as contenders right now.

Are we sure the Pacers couldn’t have acquired Zubac in the offseason and still kept their pick? I know that Mathurin and Jackson made the salaries match perfectly, but the trade haul was more for Zubac than Siakam. With Turner leaving in free agency, everyone knew Indiana was desperate for a center and they had to pay a lot to get one.
