I spent 6 years at Apple working on cool AI and privacy tools. Then I saw that popular AI apps couldn't be used for anything sensitive. So I left and helped build an AI people can trust with their real life. We've come a long way since our humble launch in Jan 2025.
Maple@TryMapleAI

You know that hesitation before you type something into AI that you might regret? We built Maple to make it disappear. Today we're (re)introducing Maple, the Personal Intelligence Platform. Encrypted AI for your real life.

Never forget that OpenAI is run by the guy behind Worldcoin. They want all your financial, health, and personal data, linked to your eyeball scan. You can’t make this stuff up. Oh wait, Minority Report already did.

“Help me save money” is one of the core benefits people hope to get out of AI. With this launch we’re making this super easy. Similar to what we did for Health by letting you connect your health records, you can now do the same for financial records so ChatGPT can have the full picture and give you more informed answers.

@marksuman @ChatGPTapp I would not trust ChatGPT with your finances or OpenAI with your financial data. What we need is a local personal finance AI.

@aliromman_ @ChatGPTapp only feel bad for the startups that don't care about data privacy. We've got something different.

@eriklocalhost the proxy is available on Start9. I can see utility in the Proxy being available on an Umbrel, but we won’t be the ones putting it there

We support building AI in the open
MTS@MTSlive

We asked the CEO of HuggingFace @ClementDelangue what the risks of releasing powerful open source models are. He says restricting AI creates more risk than openness. "Six, seven years ago, at the time it was GPT-2, and there was already a lot of people saying that it was too dangerous to release in open source." "Mythos, when it was announced was crazy dangerous... In a few weeks or a few months, everyone is gonna be using Mythos, and not destroy the world as a result." "For cybersecurity, the biggest risk is that a few players have capabilities that other people don't have... If you make it more open, it's usually easier for defenders to react and make the whole system safer." "The idea of restricting a technology like AI based on risks is like saying, 'Some people can punch other people, so let's tie down everybody's hands.'" "Otherwise you slow down progress, you create massive gaps in terms of controls, in terms of capabilities, and you create actually additional risks."

Hands down the best podcast studio. Really enjoyed hanging out with @Pete_Winn and @andymdavid to discuss AI privacy and what to do about AI agents that are such big gossips! We also explored what the tech landscape looks like in a few years: more software or less software?

Brings clarity to the AI experience when you see them side by side. We don't monetize user data, so we don't need it. Ask all the tough and silly questions you want. Research the topics that are important to you without being concerned about advertisers and others combing through your chat history. AI is a tool for you. Maple makes it personal.

Do VCs like taking pitch calls on Monday mornings? I've had two set themselves up back to back in the first hours of the week.
