I occasionally talk to agents for brainstorming purposes (to bounce thoughts off of when I don't have a human available for endless riffing) but I'm finding that reading the "AI-ese" responses makes me want to toss my computer out the window. How can I make it talk like a person?

A weird reason I'm sad that social networks were decimated by people's feeds deteriorating into algorithmic slop & polarization is bc my dad died unexpectedly two weeks ago, & if I had the social networks of 10 yrs ago I could've actually reached out to my community who knew him.

@sarahgooding @jeffr0 Yeah, I saw there were ways, but then I had like 4 different chrome profiles with dozens of tabs each and I decided that the dawn of a new day of infinite potential sounded better

Today I quit Chrome and accidentally didn't select the "reopen all tabs when logging back in" option, and now I don't even know who I am anymore.

I miss the social media of a decade ago when we could just post our random thoughts about things and then talk to each other about them. Nowadays everything needs to be a "take" or an "insight" or an "angle" or "strategic" or "hustling" or "influencing" or some shit. It sucks.

@DerekAshauer Even with me (who literally does this every day) sitting in the room to answer questions, it became frustrating so fast that we both agreed he should use Squarespace since it would be a better result in less time, even if it's a SaaS and not as fully customizable.

@DerekAshauer My husband (literally a React developer) had a similar experience earlier this year, setting up a site for the local darts league. He tried out a local install of WordPress & attempted to make something attractive looking w/off-the-rack theme, no custom code & an events calendar.

I finally sat down with my wife to understand the frustrations she hit getting started. My conclusion: The introduction of FSE and a fractured theme ecosystem has completely broken the beginner’s path. Clearly, nobody is doing UAT in WP. Deeeep dive with lots of opinions 👇

@justintadlock Yes! I have worked on a theme where we already have a dark style json in place and were just waiting on the time/ability to add a toggle.

During my team's hackathon session at our meetup, I built a light/dark toggle button within a theme using the Interactivity API (no custom block). Would you be interested in a tutorial on doing this and creating other interactive features for block themes?
