The maximum an individual can legally donate to a candidate in an election is $3300. Elon donated $277M to Trump in 2024 because of loopholes rich people use to buy elections. If you care about election integrity — overturn Citizens United so our elections aren’t auctions.

@NYCMayor How about the legal authorization to WORK in our country…? 🤔

Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani
Today, an administrative immigration judge ordered the deportation of Rafael Rubio, a City Council employee. This is an affront to justice. A dedicated public servant with legal authorization to remain in the country, Rafael showed up for a routine immigration appointment and, despite following the rules, he was detained and has now been held for months. He should be immediately released.

@BrianCox_RLTW @SecWar @PeteHegseth Okay, but the issue is that Hegseth has apparently given such orders (to kill incapacitated survivors), not just his rhetoric at press briefings. So, you are saying he is guilty of war crimes?

Retired Army JAG here. And former infantry soldier & officer. And current law professor. And YOU are full of shit. No quarter ORDERS do violate #LOAC. Giving that order is a war crime even if it's not carried out. But that is NOT an order @SecWar @PeteHegseth gave. And that is why you are full of shit. See, I've also trained hundreds of soldiers on LOAC in the applied context. Thousands, actually. And I've advised commanders & decision makers on LOAC in combat, in Afghanistan as Chief of International & Operational Law for CJTF-101/RC-E (OEF XIV). That's why I know the difference between what SECWAR said in a press briefing yesterday & a war crime. Apparently you don't - so I'll do you a favor & spell it out for you step by step, in simple language that you'll hopefully understand. Let's start off with what Hegseth ACTUALLY said: "It's a mess for them. Who's in charge? Iran may not even know. With every passing hour, we know and we know they know, that the military capabilities of their evil regime are crumbling. They can barely communicate, let alone coordinate; they're confused and we know it. Our response? We will keep pressing. We will keep pushing, keep advancing, no quarter, no mercy for our enemies." (war.gov/News/Transcrip…) Alright, if we consider this "no quarter" observation in context, we see Hegseth's intent is to convey that @DeptofWar is going to exert max pressure on our adversary. We know their military capabilities "are crumbling" & we're not going to back off. Keep pushing, keep advancing. "No quarter. No mercy." See, content & intent are important. This is how we differentiate political rhetoric from war crime. Reality from...bullshit. If we go all the way back to Hague, II (1899) & Hague, IV (1907), the Regulations annexed to both Conventions make it forbidden, "To declare that no quarter will be given" (pic 1, from Hague, IV). Seems legit, right? Isn't that what SECWAR just "declared"? Well, if LOAC development stopped at 1907, maybe you could make that argument. But, it didn't. In negotiations for later treaties, delegates decided to be more clear about what exactly that prohibition should entail. So, next we'll consider 2 later treaties 🇺🇸 hasn't ratified but we were deeply involved in shaping - Additional Protocol I (1977) to 1949 Geneva Conventions & Rome Statute @IntlCrimCourt (1998). As we'll see below, these sources confirm Hegseth's political rhetoric is NOT a LOAC violation or war crime...and US DoW doctrine is consistent with relevant text of these treaties. Let's start with AP I. As we see from art. 40, this treaty clarifies (7 decades after Hague IV), "It is prohibited to ORDER that there shall be no survivors, to THREATEN an adversary therewith or to CONDUCT hostilities on this basis" (pic 2). So, 3 specific verbs to highlight + 1 condition. No ordering, threatening, or conducting (verbs) armed hostilities under condition(s) of NO SURVIVORS. Now, reach all the way back in your memory - like 2 minutes ago - when you read actual text of Hegseth's remarks. Do you genuinely believe SECWAR just ordered or threatened there will be no survivors, even if an enemy IRGC member tries to surrender - or that we are now as a result conducting hostilities on that basis? Be honest. Of course not. And no one in the military is going to hear/read his remarks and think, "SECWAR just ordered me to take no prisoners." Seriously. Moving on from AP I, art. 8(2)(b)(xii) of Rome Statute essentially copies text of Hague IV, art. 23(d) to make "declaring no quarter will be given" a war crime (not pictured). BUT the elements of crimes follows AP I (pic 3), as does DoD Law of War Manual (pic 4). Yes, actual no quarter ORDERS do violate LOAC. Just the order alone is a war crime. But max pressure political rhetoric is not the same as an ORDER "that there shall be no survivors." Which means Sec Hegseth's comments are neither LOAC violation nor war crime. Which also means Rep Vindman is full of 💩.

Former Army JAG here. No quarter orders are a violation of the law of war and Geneva conventions. This is the same order reportedly given during the Caribbean boat strikes. @SecWar is establishing a pattern of issuing illegal orders. I’ve trained hundreds of soldiers on the law of war — our service members have an obligation to follow that law.

🚨NYC Mayor socialist Zohran Mamdani has proposed lowering the exemption on the death tax (estate tax) from $7.1 million down to only $750,000. He would also increase the death tax from 16% to 50%. No other jurisdiction in the USA confiscates wealth at death from people with that small of an estate. Anyone with any equity in a home in NYC would likely exceed the $750,000 and have to pay the death tax. There is a federal estate tax (death) for estate wealth that exceeds $15 million (individuals). However, you can deduct other state and city estate taxes before paying the federal estate tax. So effectively, Mamdani is preventing the federal govt from taxing estates, NYC and NY State are taking it all first. Follow: @WallStreetMav

Fractional Cursor acquisition. xAI taking the right steps
Jason Ginsberg@JasonBud

I’m proud to be joining SpaceX and xAI with @milichab It has become clear that software is changing fundamentally. More and more, people can shape the tools they use directly, and the ceiling of what can be built keeps rising. What makes xAI special is the scale of its ambition: to build from first principles all the way out to the stars. I’m especially grateful to work on products that expand human agency and freedom. That mission is deeply personal to me. My family came to the United States fleeing communism, and the belief that freedom should be part of the next generation of the internet has driven me every day since Andrew and I started Skiff. Now, we get to work on intelligence, understanding, and freedom on a universal scale.

How do you think the Islamic people who serve under us feel when they see this? Look are there issues in the countries we were in? Absolutely. But that was a result of a destroyed culture, not a culture at its zenith. There are stories of Christians doing every single thing you've named. I've had the pleasure of knowing Arabs and Muslims. Neither group supported what you mention. Instead it's bad people empowered within the culture.

Nah, you guys know what? I’m just gonna come out and say it. And when I’m done saying it, tell me if it’s “blatant Islamophobia” or just…. you know… reality. Let me explain to you some of the things I witnessed with my very own eyes in multiple Muslim countries. This will not be for the weak or faint of heart. 1. They didn’t just massacre one another in Baghdad, they chopped each other up into little pieces and stuffed them in underground vats. SPC Plocica was the only one with a strong enough stomach to fish the pieces out with a coat hanger so we could confirm the report. Don’t worry @Primz94933160 was there too as a witness. Rib cages with rotted flesh, pieces of legs with shoes attached, arms, hands, you name it. It was the most disgusting thing I’ve seen with my two eyes. 2. The obsession with having sex with children or feminine men. The saying over there was women are for breeding and men are for fun. We had to protect our fairer looking male Soldiers from being molested CONSTANTLY. But that isn’t the worst part. I once stumbled upon an Afghan colonel r*ping his 11 year old assistant, I heard the unholy noises emanating from his tent on our FOB. When I moved to interdict I was stopped for fear of a Green on Blue incident. And then we were all “educated” on the fact that this was CULTURALLY ACCEPTABLE FOR THEM TO DO. It was as normal as breathing. 3. Women are less than nothing to them. I would always ask how many children elders had for small talk. They could have 10 kids. 7 daughters and 3 sons. What will they tell you? They have 3 sons. I watched a man carrying his dead daughter in his arms to my FOB. She died due to a malfunctioned bomb we dropped. That didn’t matter to him. He dropped her on the ground with a stone cold face and demanded we pay him. She was f*****g NOTHING to him. He left the body with us and walked away counting his money. 4. Some of them have sex with animals. Ask me if I saw a man from COP 763 in east Baghdad mount a donkey in the middle of the night through a RAID FLIR camera. Because the answer will be yes. 5. They did heinous things in battle. Suicide bombings. Using their own wives as human shields. Using children as shields. Shooting from mosques. Spitting at our working dogs… or worse. This all sounds crazy right? And I bet my comment section will flow with similar horror stories. It almost sounds like I’m making it up huh? I wish I was. I really do. I know good Muslims in America. One of them is among my closest friends. But he’s passed through the American filter…HEAVILY. I can safely say he is literally one of us. My question for you is, how are you not “Islamophobic”? My assessment comes from 4 total years immersed in multiple Islamic nations. I wish I could say I’m sorry that I’m an inconvenient truth teller against your agenda. But I’m not sorry at all. You must open your eyes. You MUST see this is a problem. Don’t you? How can you not?
Rep. Laura Friedman@RepFriedmanCA

Calling for Zohran Mamdani’s denaturalization isn’t just wrong — it’s blatant Islamophobia. It’s also anti-democratic and a disgrace to the office of a Member of Congress. This Administration's failure to condemn this vile attack and other forms of Anti-Muslim hate undermines the safety of our Muslim friends and neighbors. It is all too normalized in our civil discourse. This concerns me deeply, as both a defender of religious freedom and a Jewish woman. syracuse.com/politics/2025/…
