Nicholas Smith, 26 and Andrew Jones, 36 have been charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm. The victims Haroon Khan, 22, and Mohammed Khan, 19 didn’t sustain any lasting injuries from the bar stool. We are investigating whether to treat this as a hate crime.

Leading the boys out in a Wear-Tyne Derby was a dream come true, one that the 4-year-old me who started the game could never have imagined possible. Now that the emotions of Saturday’s result have settled, I wanted to express my gratitude.
