GOL Boeing 737-800 and Azul Embraer E195-E2 were involved in a loss of separation incident at Sao Paulo Congonhas Airport earlier today. Initial reports say the E195-E2 was only 75 feet (22 meters) vertically separated from the 737-800 as the GOL 737 overflew the Azul E195-E2 on the same runway during go-around. A photo has been circulating on social media reportedly taken by a passenger aboard the Azul E195-E2 plane showing the GOL 737.

LATAM Boeing 777 Aborts Takeoff Again at Guarulhos! 📹 For the second time in less than a week, a LATAM Boeing 777-300ER has aborted its takeoff at Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) during flight #LA8146 bound for Lisbon. This time, the aircraft involved was registration PT-MUG, which interrupted its takeoff roll at low speed and returned for technical evaluation. Notably, just five days prior, PT-MUH, another LATAM Boeing 777-300ER on the same route to Lisbon, experienced a much more serious aborted takeoff, reaching approximately 330 km/h (178 knots) before the pilots aborted. @analyticflying Mostly because of -government arrangements with the airline companies -Brasília is in the geographic center of Brazil (as like Canberra, it was a city built just with purpose of holding government).

LATAM 777-300ER rejects takeoff at ~178 knots... past rotation speed.. on runway 09L at São Paulo Guarulhos. Nose gear lifted, then max braking! Glowing red brakes, burst tires , safe stop but taxiway blocked 12 hours, pax offloaded there. Standard rule: After V1, continue takeoff.. aborting risks overrun. This crew went against textbook... worked, but why? Imo: Emergencies happen, but high-speed RTOs are edge of envelope stuff. Training says 'fly the plane,' yet they stopped it. Was this justified (imminent catastrophe?), or should they have continued?

@libanmods @Fahadnaimb Yeah, I saw in another post that earlier that day there was a NOTAN about drones flying near GRU, supposedly from criminals on the slums monitoring police operations. I heard nothing about it later, but it won’t surprise me.

@Fahadnaimb I am brazilian, and I learned on the news that the airport was invaded by drones, even a NOTAM was issued. Even an Emirates A380 was diverted to RJ Galeão (SBGL/GIG). It is not known so far if they were private drones, or belonged to criminals.
