@mathmakeover I'm looking to do this project now...any chance you could share your data files?

@johnjoricher I haven’t used Flipgrid, but I am familiar with how it works. That would be cool, especially since time differences prevent a live video conference.

@chrisztweetz @iteachmathAll Hi Chris, I’m planning on doing this project the last week of February if you are interested. The more data we collect the better, and the international collaboration is awesome. Do you use Google Docs? I was thinking of collecting our measurements in a shared spreadsheet.

@valerie_koch @iteachmathAll I’m planning on doing this the last week of February. I’m in California, and I think the international collaboration is exciting for everyone! Do you use Google Docs? If so we could share a spreadsheet of the results.

@mathmakeover @iteachmathAll I’ve done this before but by collecting data from websites. Would potentially be interested in doing again or seeing if colleagues would like to. I’m at international school in Switzerland. Let me know when you’re thinking about doing it.

@oconhop Notice: if 4 pieces are 90 calories, then 6 pieces should be 135 calories (not 140). Wonder: what formula are they using to calculate the number of calories in a serving or “thoughtful portion”? How much rounding is occurring?

@mathwizlizz In the past, I always had great success using multiple representations. I would write (and have my ss write) each proof 3 different ways: two-column, flow/multi-flow, and paragraph. I explain that the two-column and flow proofs are really more like stepping stones to paragraphs.

I teach Geometry and need ideas on how to introduce & teach logic and proofs. How do you keep Ss engaged when introducing proofs? Suggestions and resources? #MTBoS

@mathwizlizz I recently discovered @CanFigureIt which seems very promising for scaffolding the proof writing process. I haven’t used it with students yet though. Anyone else have experience with it? canfigureit.com

@b_wolley @euclidea_app My first week of class will be focused on developing relationships, routines, and reasoning skills. I plan on using @euclidea_app during class on our tablets for one of the reasoning activities. I may revisit it periodically as a warmup or when we are learning constructions.

“The question that must be asked every day is, ‘What is best for this learner?’” What are some practical ways you are personalizing learning with your students? Anyone using individualized learning plans? #InnovatorsMindset #MTBoS #iteachmath
