Today, Springer teachers & faculty visited a couple of our neighborhoods. My bus headed to Newbridge, & don’t be surprised if you saw your favorite teachers/admin playing on the playground. What was really cool was seeing the apartment I lived in while attending HSES.

YAY WILEY HUNNICUTT! Wiley Hunnicutt, an English teacher at Douglas Freeman High School, is today's "Yay of the Day" honoree. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her recently at the school. (No. 25 in a series. See previous "Yay of the Day" honorees at henricoschools.us/yay-of-the-day/)

Today we were working on a review IXL in Algebra 1 on evaluating expressions. The student didn’t have a calculator… so she calculated 60x14 using the box method. How cool! I was excited to tell her we are going to be using it this year too! (She later changed the 600-240 to +)

Principals dig deep every day to help children, families and our community. Today we’re giving a special shoutout to Stephanie Williams of Cashell Donahoe Elementary School and John Marshall of Douglas S. Freeman High School. We are so lucky to have you as Henrico County leaders!
