Timber restaurant built on a tiny site in Tokyo. Built using digital fabrication, the entire building can be disassembled and then rebuilt elsewhere when it reaches the end of its useful life. Design by Vuild Architects. Photo by Ringo.

Congratulations to Victoria on getting tentative listing of its goldfields on World Heritage list. “Most extensive and coherent” goldfield heritage in world.

Ok - we’re into the Federal Election year, so it’s a good time to reflect on the Noelitions positions on policy…

@Craig_Foster I read this article too and could not believe that the government fought this basic human right - it is despicable

Is this actually a thing? In Australia? You’re telling me that a government is arguing against providing clean drinking water, a basic human right and the absolute minimum expectation of any authority, anywhere, certainly one that has control of public funds. Housing, clean water so as not to die of thirst or from water-borne disease, or to drink uranium, enough to eat, particularly for kids. These are the basics that government in Australia is duty-bound to provide, as rightly ruled by the court. Otherwise, move on and let someone else do the job properly. Honestly.

At Sydney’s Walsh Bay, as you are cycling or driving along Hickson Road, just before you enter the roundabout, notice the ‘Artwork Ahead’ sign. If you look past it to the right, you’ll notice the artwork (car crushed by a rock).

15yrs ago, artist, Warren Langley created Aspire. Looking like it holds up the western distributor heading out of Sydney, in fact it is a protest piece to show how the locals fought the construction company to keep many home destined for demolition in Ultimo.

Did you know that the founder of Sydney University had a false identity? Genuinely, one of my favourite moments from #StuffTheBritishStole this year. Charles Nicholson is one of the founding fathers of Australia’s oldest university. Just one problem: There is no Charles Nicholson…

I don’t approve of hot cross buns being in supermarkets more than a month before Easter. And I generally don’t approve of the non-traditional hot cross bun varieties. But I very much approve of Iced VoVos. So I cracked and bought these from Coles and they are delicious.

Movie Thread: 🧵 Just rewatched 'A Room With A View' (1985) because my partner insisted. She's a romantic. In my naive youth when I last saw it, I tagged it as a harmless, albeit competent little love story ...
