@mattckrell @SamaHoole Dont bother...​Its a romanticised view. In reality, about 90% of global beef is finished on grain grown on the very 'monoculture farmland' the post criticises. It’s a great argument for a tiny 3% niche of farming, but it doesn't describe most of the beef people actually eat.

Activist: "The water usage for beef is obscene. Thousands of litres per kilogram." Farmer: "That's rainfall." Activist: "What?" Farmer: "The figure includes all the rain that falls on the pasture. The cows drink from the stream. The rain falls whether there's a cow here or not." Activist: "It's still water consumption." Farmer: "Should I stop the rain falling on my field?" Activist: "Grow crops instead. More efficient." Farmer: "This is a 35-degree slope in the Welsh hills. Show me the crop." Activist: "Technology..." Farmer: "To make tractors climb mountains?" Activist: "There must be a solution." Farmer: "There is. It's called a cow." Activist: [checks phone]

If we haven't built culture by now, a padlock and a flashlight aren't going to fix it." She said "your attitude is part of the problem" I said "my attitude built the Q2 forecast in two days. What has the escape room built." She didn't answer She left a flyer on my desk I used it as a coaster At 4:58 I packed my bag The analyst saw me leaving He said "you're not going?" I said "I have somewhere to be" He said "where" I said "home" He looked confused Like the concept of leaving at 5 on a Friday was something he'd only read about I said "you should try it sometime" Got in the car My wife called She said "are you coming home?" I said "I escaped" She said "from what" I said "the escape room" She said "you didn't go did you" I said "I didn't need to. I solved it from my office. The answer was the door." @RedHedgedragon This is one of the reasons that I’m always banging on about Shakespeare. Surprising about of gore and sex jokes, and yet his stories are some of the most Godfearing stories you could imagine. The problem is that most evangelicals are Gnostic and they don’t know it.

There are quite a lot of indie books that fit this description When you don’t have gatekeepers applying arbitrary “Christian nice” standards to stories, authors are better able to tell stories that are good and glorify God
