So 28.5 years after playing for my last service, I made my debut on the organ bench at Evensong. 2 voluntaries, Anglican chant (new to me as the accompanist) and 3 hymns later, I made it through with only a few moments of terror!

The severe weather warning at past midnight was superfluous.

Too often children's needs are forgotten in policy making, or they fall through the gaps of departmental priorities. That's why we want to see a Cabinet Level Minister for Children. Thanks to Baroness D'Souza for raising this important issue in Parliament this week.

Improving quality of later life sometimes means less medical intervention not more. This should be the patient's informed decision. Older people and their families need to have realistic conversations with their doctors including about levels of intervention they want. (5/5)

pet peeve: ARDS is a syndrome, not a disease. *everything* on this list can *cause* ARDS! listing ARDS here is an exercise in circular logic. misunderstanding of what "ARDS" means is deeply baked into the medical literature. once you understand this, you'll see it everywhere.
