@auntyowls @IHateNYT @UnlimitedBreads Yeah, 50% to 65% humidity is considered dry for the US, especially when it isn't that humid for a full day. The places hosting games experience the heat of Portugal and Greece at 70%+ humidity 24/7 in the summer.

@hellspatisserie There are still plenty of countries on this planet with no or small airforces. Sure, a 4th get would eat for days but if they find the runway and attack by ground or with a massive air wave, not much they can do. Then it devolve into WW1/2 tactics.

@nikicaga Depends on if they are deploying from Germany or being placed next to the enemy country. If 1941 Germany is deployed right next to the country, I'd say Nigeria or Bangladesh would be the biggest. Simply due to saturation and the Germans have an experienced military.

@soigomaa There is technically one justification and it is under imminent threat. But that is very rare and normally the one doing the threatening is charged with the crime. Rasheed Powel 2012 was a case like this where he forced couples to do it. However, the one threatening is charged so

SA is the only crime that cannot be justified by any circumstances. Murder? It could be self defense. Cannibalism? It could be a result of extreme hunger or lack or resources. Theft? Could occur from desperation to feed a family. SA? There is no excuse. It's an act that causes lifelong trauma, driven solely by the perpetrators feeling and selfish desires.

@Shirlscamp @DoomSpurs @noturtlesoup17 Tuesday April 7th. Glasgow had 93% at 8:20am at 40°F (4.4°C). I've had my home town in the midwest go from 18 to 60°F in a day with ≈60% humidity the whole day and that's a normal spring day. That dew point was like 43°F for you. Today's dew point is 41°F here with 30% humidity.

@matthew_dost @DoomSpurs @noturtlesoup17 We had 97% humidity in Scotland a few days ago....we are an island with The jet stream, the Atlantic ocean and north Atlantic drift and a tonne of seawater, humidity is a normality here in the UK 😂 as is the changeable weather. Sweaty humid, then cold and windy in one morning

@lvrjunhee WBGT = 0.7Tnwb + 0.2Tg + 0.1Tdb. Tdb is the temp (47.4°C at peak). Tnwb is natural wet bulb which takes the dew point and estimated wind = 24°C that day. Tg is global temp with full sun rays. Estimated 10-15 higher so 58.4°C. This gives you a WBGT of 33.22°C at peak.

@matthew_dost unfortunately that's what you get for trusting ai (which is only making the earth hotter btw) cause those same 47°C, probably felt like 52°C to the people under that extreme weather

@lvrjunhee Also, the hottest it has ever been in Portugal was 47°C and that only met a WBGT of 32°C.

@lvrjunhee A good metric to use to compare temperatures is Wet Bulb Global Temperature. Portugal, in the hottest areas, get a max score of 27°C. An average day in Huston, Texas sees a WBGT of 31°C. WBGT takes in temps, humidity, dew point, wind, and gives a spot a metric based on those.

@InWonder_Ali @KarlMaxxed It is actually hotter in the Midwest and south. Your humidity levels in the worst places in Europe meet the average or low thresholds in these areas of the US. The same areas where the dew point is routinely 10 points or more higher than in Europe. It quite literally is hotter.

@matthew_dost @KarlMaxxed Thing is that we’re not saying “it’s hotter here”, we’re saying “it also gets hot here” We’re just joking abt it since americans in Europe tend to whine abt our lack of AC but then they come and pull this “you can’t handle our heat” shit up You proved we can yourselves mate 🤣

@humphriezz The point isn't the distance but the time spent in the heat. The last time FIFA was in the US was 1994. The summer Olympics was in 1996. Just look into it a bit. Also, from what I gather, the humidity could've been worse.

@comradenyan We are one of the few places that see the mix of high temps, humidity, and dew index. The Amazon Basin, the Yangtze River Valley, and the Ganges Valley see similar weather while the Persian Gulf and Singapore can see worse. Europe does not really see a similar mix.

@InWonder_Ali @KarlMaxxed The humidity get similar in some areas but the dew point is way off. The worst you get in Spain is 66 while many places in the US see 66 as base.

@KarlMaxxed Humidity plus dew point is a bitch. Europe may see similar or slighly lower humidity but the dew point only gets to 65 as a high. The US average is 70+ with some places getting 80s closer to 90. Meaning sweating does not cool you off.

Office of the Secretary of the Air Force
In consultation with @SecWar, we will EXTEND the A-10 “Warthog” platform to 2030. This preserves combat power as the Defense Industrial Base works to increase combat aircraft production. Thank you to @POTUS for your unwavering support of our warfighters and quick, decisive leadership as we equip our force. More to come.

@WaddaBoddles @SecAFOfficial @SecWar @POTUS I have but not since I was a kid. I recall the terminator had ships and stuff but I was mostly referring to having cheap surveillance drones like Ukraine and operators/AI identify combatants and vehicles. Keep track through buildings and a simple strafe could clear it.

@DoomSpurs @noturtlesoup17 Why? Because I like jeans and dark cloths. Also, as far as I know, Brazil is the only place that could compare that you mentioned. There other places that get similar or worse weather. The Persain gulf and Singapore are worse and the Amazon Basin and the Ganges Valley are similar

@_glorianas Europe does not experience the humidity, dew points, and heat that the Midwest and southern states get. Sure, some places experience similar humidity but their dew point in 65F at the highest while ours is routinely 75F+. They didn't plan for our weather in 1994 and 96.

@DoomSpurs @noturtlesoup17 The most humid places you get tend to get humidity as high as 70%. Most places in the US, including those holding FIFA games, experience 70% as a low or mid point. I'd like to see you chilling outside in the sun with it being 95°F with 90% humidity in jeans and a t shirt.
