This is the new Chief of Staff, Chief Marketer, Chief of you name it! This role is still not well defined by most and definitely one that is a personal pursuit. We've done the same and feel the same about it. How long until this becomes the most desired role at any organization?

Best money I've ever spent as a CEO... an internal AI transformation hire. He doesn't care about title. He just wants to ship. And he goes across your entire org, sales, revenue, hr, apps, tech and kills stupid manual processes. Such an underrated unlock I have since hired 2 more.

Boredom isn’t a weakness in leadership. In a culture obsessed with speed and constant activity, the pause is often where real clarity appears. Without space to think, strategy quickly turns into reaction. I explore this idea in my latest piece in @Forbes Read more: forbes.com/councils/forbe…

AI is accelerating everything. But if we’re not careful, leadership can quietly drift. Tech can optimize systems, but it can’t replace presence or clarity. I shared some thoughts on this in my latest piece for Entrepreneur: entrepreneur.com/leadership/ais…

@SahilBloom Energy givers create limitless action...energy takers suck the living soul out of every aspect of your work. Hugely important to focus on energy takers/givers in your people decisions

I'm increasingly convinced that burnout doesn't come from working long hours or weekends. Burnout comes from working on things that drain your energy with people that do the same.

Founders who achieve orbit share one trait: They build systems before they need them. Everyone else builds systems in crisis. By then, they're out of oxygen.

DM me "ORBIT" and I'll send you the framework I use to help founders escape thrust mode. 10 minutes. No pitch. (Will also reply here to anyone who comments with their biggest scaling challenge.)

Running a 4-week sprint for founders ready to escape thrust mode. 8 spots. We start Feb 10. DM "SPRINT" if you want details. (Not for everyone — you need to be at $1M+ and willing to actually implement.)

Everyone’s arguing Founder Mode vs Manager Mode. Both miss the point. One burns you out. The other drains the company’s soul. There’s a third path most founders never hear about. → matthewmathison.com/founders-orbit

Two types of people on every team: Builders: See problem → solve problem → expand scope Users: See problem → wait for direction → complete task Delegation to Builders works. Delegation to Users fails. Know who you have.

The hardest part of scaling isn't strategy. It's grieving the version of your company where you touched everything. That company has to die for the next one to live.

Built a free 10-min training on escaping the Founder Mode trap: → Why delegation alone doesn't work → The Oxygen Check (60-sec burnout diagnostic) → Builders vs Users (why your team matters more than your process) Link in bio. Or DM "ORBIT."

Hot take check: The "professional CEO" who replaces founders usually fails because they don't understand orbit physics. They just add a different kind of thrust. Agree or disagree?

Your calendar is a map of your physics. Full of meetings = thrust mode Protected blocks = orbit building No whitespace = oxygen depleting Audit it. It tells the truth.

Every founder has a burnout trajectory. Most don't feel it until they're already cracking. The founders who last aren't tougher. They just learned to check their oxygen sooner.

@nikunj I call the dynamic when Founders can extend past sprints to marathon or long distance running -- Founders Orbit.....need the thrust to make it to the atmosphere, but once there -- gravity can do the rest -- build systems and get to orbit as fast as possible

More companies die because the founders run out of steam than they run out of money.. Marathon > sprint is such a CLICHE but it’s so true. Important to choose hard quests, work hard, but “momentum” will only take you so far before you burn out. Taking care of yourself has never been more important.

Founders: When did you first feel the tension between "stay hands-on" and "let go"? What triggered it?
