Bizarre seeing people push back on this because of the particular stats being used as if the basic point (that Barkley is much better than Draymond) isn't absolutely correct.

@JonesOnTheNBA I think that is probably true, but it should also keep him from having a regular television job post-playing career. He's a pretty rough hang.

@RealTomPetrini This is a pretty similar injury to the one Jokic had earlier in the season, right? He missed a full month and wasn't fully himself when he returned. Feels like Ant rushing back this fast could get ugly.

The most extinct thing in the entire movie isn’t the public pools, the country fair, or block parties. Those all still exist. It’s the idea of kids playing baseball just for fun. No trophies, no tournament, no parents, just play. Travel sports has ruined a generation of kids.

I'm watching the film “Sandlot” with our kids and just realized that the film’s version of America with baseball, public pools, county fair, block parties, etc is almost extinct.

@SherwoodStrauss He rebounded his own miss 61 times in 65 games. He beat KAT by one rebound per game. He gets "assists" for hand-offs where the scorer dribbles twice many, many, many times. His stats, like his name, are a JOKE

With respect, this is the argument I don’t get with Jokic. His basic, traditional stats are amazing and unprecedented. No scientist came up with something like VORPper48 to trick everybody. He just puts up insane numbers, but can struggle on D and sometimes with his 3
Damien Peters@DamienPetersNBA

Nikola Jokic will now be the overwhelming example of “eye test over everything”. Since winning his first MVP the majority of spreadsheets and formulated NBA metrics claimed he was the greatest offensive player ever. There’s never been more pushback to that sentiment than right now.

There used to be movies that bombed in cinemas but slowly became classics. It’s what TV did and later the video stores and after that DVD. But what are the movies that were saved by streaming? What are the films that bombed and became fan favorites in the age of streaming?

@bromritt @supreme_script @HPbasketball If Chet and Wemby don't like each other then the motivation was equal. OKC was still hoping to chase 70 wins at that point. They wanted to win and they didn't. It's ok. It happens.

@matthibbing @supreme_script @HPbasketball Yes both teams want to win, but one team wanted to send a message while the other decided it’s not worth it. Because it’s not. And yes Wendy hates Chet, he made Wendy cry when they were teenagers. Whether it’s that or that the media keeps pushing it, they don’t like eachother

it's ok to respect other teams, you went to seven games with a team tht fired their gm and coach coming off a seven game series with a six man rotation with two injured players and the five seed and may have lost if not for an Achilles injury. You're awesome, best team in the land, everyone agrees. it's ok to respect other teams.

@HPbasketball Thunder smashing the Spurs if healthy. Calling them an ideal matchup is pretty wild

@bromritt @supreme_script @HPbasketball "Wemby hates Chet" is laughable. Both teams tried to win those games and the Spurs won them. I don't know why that is so hard to accept. Doesn't mean the Thunder aren't the better team, either over a full regular season or a playoff series. No need for all this cope.

@matthibbing @supreme_script @HPbasketball The fact that Wembanyama hates Chet, also that the Spurs then lost to the Knicks cause they went too hard against Thunder also they didn’t rotate subs that game. And then the fact that Shai barely played in pivotal moments most of 4th. Daigneault decided it wasn’t worth it.

@matthibbing @supreme_script @HPbasketball I don’t care about regular season, if it happens in the playoffs then I’ll care. Thunder didn’t care about the regular season, Spurs wanted more than anything to beat them, so the Thunder said yeah, I don’t really care it’s the regular season and didn’t play hard.

I really, deeply believe that the NBA thrives in one-team markets. Salt Lake. Portland. Oklahoma City. San Antonio. It’s part of why I’m so against Memphis relocation. You get to own that city, guys, and you have several examples of how powerful that can be when it goes right.
Dustin Taylor ⌚️@DustinT_NBA

The NBA would be smart to lean into teams with fanbases like Utah instead of handcuffing them The Jazz have a better atmosphere in meaningless games than half the eastern conference playoffs

@matthibbing @poundingtherock That is precisely why I decided to look at that specifically. One of those times where the eye test can warp perception, because even I was starting to question it.

Thought Luke Kornet deserved a little love since his value is sometimes hard to quantify. No player in the NBA has more screen assists at a lower usage rate than Kornet. He gives players space like nobody else, while hardly touching the ball. He's also the best player on the team at corralling contested rebounds. Doing the dirty work isn't sexy, but he's one of the best backup bigs in the league at that, no question.
