Just like trump said, the ballroom will cost $100 million and all $200 million of it will be privately funded. Taxpayers won't pay a cent of the $300 million because all $400 million of it will come from donations. Only $1 billion will have to come from the taxpayers.

@voteholyk Do you remember the 11 attempts on Obama's life? Probably not, because he didn't make it a central theme in his campaign/administration, he just continued doing his job.

Oh hey, “private donations” are no longer paying for the ballroom. Who could have seen that coming?

Mexico didn’t pay for the wall, Trump gold cards didn’t balance the budget, there are no $2,000 DOGE or tariff refund checks, and donors aren’t paying for the ballroom.

@voteholyk Is that why the introduced legislation in 2021 to eliminate it, but the bill was blocked by Senate R's?

LOL, Look at Vermont or Delaware. It was illegal, a judge already said so and the State SC will find as such. They violated every single procedure and the ballot question was dishonest and misleading. VA has very specific procedures for constitutional amendments, they didn't follow any of them. That's why the judge ruled "ab initio": it was illegal from the start. Democrats are the absolute worst when it comes to gerrymandering.

Democrats in VA just illegally and unconstitutionally tried to ram through a new congressional map that would have taken VA from 6D\5R house seats to 10D\1R house seats. The broke every single procedure and state law to do it. The lied to their voters and tried to take away representation from half of the state under the guise of "fairness"... 🤨 These people are power hungry sociopaths who will do anything for power. They have convinced themselves they are righteous so the ends justify the means. Texas redid their maps because they had in influx of almost a million people who fled from Democrat states. It wasn't to make sure Republicans win the midterms. I would also like to point out that Democrats are in such a weak position for taking the house in the midterms they have to resort to this. They aren't even talking about the US Senate.

@voteholyk TX did their redistricting without a vote of the people. VA and CA voters chose to redistrict. Not illegal, the challenge will get thrown out in the state's SC. Gerrymandering is awful and shouldn't be done. Dems have been trying to outlaw it at the federal level for 20 years.

The purpose of the redistricting was not to create seats for the midterms, that would be the lies Democrats tell to justify their illegal gerrymandering response. Creating more R leaning districts is just a benefit. Had they not had a influx of population it wouldn't have happened. Abbot was already weighing doing it and it was done legally. Get over it. Funny how you have no comment on the Democrats in VA doing the exact same thing while violating every law and taking away representation from half a state... but Trump... do the ends always justify the means? Do better Matt.

Disenfranchising millions of voters and forcing 45% of Virginians to be represented by 1 congressional district and 55% represented by 10 is now “standing up for Democracy.” Is that “equity”? What a farce.
Barack Obama@BarackObama

Congratulations, Virginia! Republicans are trying to tilt the midterm elections in their favor, but they haven’t done it yet. Thanks for showing us what it looks like to stand up for our democracy and fight back.

Democrats rail against gerrymandering—until it benefits them. Just look at Virginia. Using Texas as the example while doing the same thing is peak hypocrisy. Nothing’s uglier than… “it’s fine when my side does it.” Power over principles—every time.

So in basically a 50-50 vote the Democrats just disenfranchised Virginia voters 91-9. Don’t ever lecture us about democracy again. It’s a tyrannical party that values power over people. They hate you. Even if you’re one of them. You’re a useful idiot and nothing more.

If Congressman Swalwell has not resigned with the Clerk of the House by 2 PM today, I will continue my resolution regarding his expulsion. His statement about his “plan to resign his seat” is not binding and is wormy. The same goes for Tony.
