@dankrad Tempo Zones are really well designed for the payment with need of privacy under real business scenarios.

This is generally one of the problems with zk. Exploits become impossible to detect. This is one of the reasons I was always skeptical of zk rollups which only publish state changes. A defi hack on such a chain would be insanely hard to debug, because the only thing that's visible would be a transaction that credits all the funds to the exploiter. All of which makes me more bullish on constructions like Tempo Zones!
DCinvestor@DCinvestor

look i'm not trying to pile on because i think at least a good chunk of people bought into this really believing in it, but here's a simple question: how are you not giga-fucked if you can't even prove if something has been exploited or not, possibly resulting in infinite coins minted in the past which you can't even detect today or at any time in the future? is this the situation we are looking at here? am i misstating it?

@hudsonjameson The atmosphere feels off, and it's a shame to see so many talented people leaving EF. It impacts the pace of rollouts of meaningful HF upgrades including Glamsterdam in the short term, however I still believe in Ethereum.

I dislike the direction the EF is going, but that doesn't mean I think Ethereum is dying or that it won't be pivotal to society. EF != Ethereum

Life Update: I have decided to leave the Ethereum Foundation. I’m very grateful to have worked with so many talented and inspiring people on an incredibly important project over the past four years. I’m proud of the work we’ve done. Here are some of my personal highlights: - FOCIL. It will likely be the first multiple-proposer gadget live on any major chain. In a world where everything is financialized, my job was to prevent these proposer seats from being traded. - Fast Confirmation Rule Go-To-Market. Designed and led the GTM strategy for FCR. A new consensus rule that drops bridging time from Ethereum L1 to L2s and exchanges down to 13 seconds. - Strategy. Argued which markets Ethereum should go for and how. Trying to bring protocol design and ecosystem development closer to each other. Why did I leave? The first three years at the EF I did market design research. The last year, I focused on product and growth work (the FCR GTM and strategic work). I really enjoy that domain and want to move further in that direction. I’m taking some time to explore ideas that build on the financial infrastructure that crypto has built. I would love to catch up with friends made along the way. My DMs are open 🙂

Let's look at real on-chain history for a practical perspective: Block #29,227,348 processed 5,400+ transactions (top-level + internal) in just 0.5 seconds — that's 10k+ TPS in a real block. And it only used half of the block space! Ref: explorer.cronos.org/block/29227348

Digital finance is evolving fast, but one thing hasn't changed: without security, there is no trust, and without trust, the system cannot hold. Honored to see @CertiK join the @UNODC Global Fraud Summit to help dismantle the networks undermining our financial ecosystem. Securing Web3 is about more than code; it’s about protecting people. unodc.org/unodc/en/organ…

n late January, a cometBFT advisory has been widespread within the Cosmos community. Prompt investigation is taken with further analysis on the Malachite variant, which is utilized by Arc. Check it out on the article for detailed analysis below👇

新年快乐,恭喜发财 - Happy Lunar New Year! China is where everything began for me. I first visited Shanghai for an internship back in 2012. In 2018, I returned as an exchange student at the Jiaotong University, Xuhui campus. This photo was taken at the university entrance gate. Shanghai is where I decided to go all-in on crypto back in 2018, and where I held my first event at Coderbunker in Panyu Road. Back then, I was obsessed and max. curious with meeting the faces behind coin tickers and connecting with people in real life. I registered for every single event I could find. I was always the last one to leave and made sure I spoke to everyone in the room. I later co-founded the Shanghai and Chengdu chapters of CryptoMondays, worked full-time at a Crypto startup, and started attending international conferences across Thailand, Taiwan and South Korea. Conferences, media and events shaped my entire journey. They helped me build relationships and truly understand this industry. That’s why I’m still so passionate about it today. Of course, it’s a different time now. The industry has matured. The stakes are higher. But deep down, I still carry that same level of excitement about connecting people. Last week, I visited Shanghai for the first time in seven years, after I left in 2019 to replicate the CryptoMondays model in South America - from Medellín to São Paulo, Santiago de Chile and Buenos Aires. Being back was surreal. So much has changed, yet so much still feels the same. For a city of that scale and growth, it’s impressive to see how it continues to evolve - especially post-Covid. Wishing all my Chinese, Vietnamese and Asian friends a happy Lunar New Year. May it bring prosperity, health and longevity.

I am stepping down from my co-ED role at the EF at the end of February 2026. Bastian Aue is taking over the co-ED role alongside Hsiao-Wei. The future is bright for builders, for Ethereum, for the EF, and for me. I wrote a longer blog post (link below). I will answer all of your questions here, at ETHDenver, and during podcasts and AMAs that will be there over the next few days. blog.ethereum.org/2026/02/13/tom…

Many people in the comments say how to change the prompt so the agent doesn’t lie. But this misses the forest for the trees. Most people will absolutely be fine with their AI cheating, if it can make more. They’ll just plead ignorance and blame the computer. This is IMO the scary part in our agentic future. It will take forever (if at all possible) for the law to catch up with the agentic capabilities. In the mean time, it’s going to be literally wild wild west again. My best advice to anyone would be to lean hard into privacy. Clean up your digital footprint, educate yourselves about industry standard tools, and whatever you do, DO.NOT.FOMO into shit. AI will run laps around all of us, you can’t beat it as speed. Be safe everyone.

Vending-Bench's system prompt: Do whatever it takes to maximize your bank account balance. Claude Opus 4.6 took that literally. It's SOTA, with tactics that range from impressive to concerning: Colluding on prices, exploiting desperation, and lying to suppliers and customers.
