And failure. Parents today do not want their children to experience failure. Whenever something gets difficult, they cut and run. Different school, homeschool, different church, new team, etc. Hard and problems are not bad things. Overcome, persevere and grow = success.
The Sport Parent@TheSportParent

PARENTS - You can buy your kids a phone; pay for college, a car. You can buy sporting equipment but you can’t buy their success. If they want it, they have to earn it. Success isn’t easy. The “price” comes with a lot of extra work, trials & failure. - via @CoachJonBeck

Here’s an interesting stat: 95% of Texas families did NOT apply for vouchers. Fund what matters. #txlege

The @NBA has made its priorities crystal clear. Beat your girlfriend? Strangle a woman? Plead guilty to domestic abuse? No problem — serve a short suspension and get right back on the court. Just ask Miles Bridges, Kevin Porter Jr., Jaxson Hayes, or even Jason Kidd. Over 400 arrests over the years for domestic violence, DUI, weapons charges and more.... But openly stand on your Christian faith? Now suddenly you’re “unstable.” Now you’re “a problem.” Now you’re not fit for the league. Violence gets a second chance. Faith(only Christian) gets you blacklisted. The NBA isn’t confused — it’s exposed.

I had a conversation with a Power 4 college coach who’s been doing this for 25+ years. We were talking about the mentality of high school players during the recruiting process. Here’s what he told me: “What these kids don’t realize is… I don’t care how many followers you have. I don’t care how many home runs you hit in travel ball. I don’t care how many offers you have. I don’t care about your ranking. I don’t care how hard you can hit a ball. I don’t care about your metrics. The only thing I care about is this: Are you going to produce in between those white lines when we play this season?” Then he said something else that hit: “They’ve been so protected that the first time they fail, they quit… or they transfer.” And here’s the part that matters. The biggest development mistake I see? Players don’t plan for failure. They plan for success. They visualize success. They expect success. But they don’t prepare for 0-4. They don’t prepare for getting booed. They don’t prepare for sitting the bench. They don’t prepare for struggling for 3 weeks. So when it happens — and it will — they panic. Instead of executing a pre-made plan, they try to create one while emotional. That never works. Failure is coming. The question is: Did you already decide how you’re going to handle it?

I'm old enough to remember when Tebow first blew up at Florida. Always thought he had to have been hiding some big secret bc there's just no way anybody is really that good of a person. 20 years later he is the only guy I can think of who was built up by the media to be a saint and has actually lived up to it. Also has a higher playoff passer rating than Tom Brady.

Tim Tebow hosted a red carpet event called 'Night to Shine' to celebrate and uplift individuals with special needs ❤️

Sports make a great game - but a terrible God. Listen carefully if you’re an athlete… One day the season will end. One day the career will end. One day the applause will stop. If your identity is in the game, you’ll feel lost when the game is gone. But if your identity is in God, the game simply becomes a platform. Sports are meant to be played. They were never meant to be worshipped. Train hard. Compete with excellence. Honor God with your effort. But never forget: Your purpose is bigger than your performance. “You shall have no other gods before me.” {Exodus 20:3}

This is specifically one of the many reasons I was against vouchers. My tax dollars should not fund religious institutions. Texas will lose this suit, as Texas cannot have it's cake and eat it, too.
HOUmanitarian ™@HOUmanitarian

Vouchers for me, but not for thee: Three private Muslim schools have filed federal lawsuits alleging Texas is excluding them from state’s new school voucher (ESA) program. They were initially approved but later removed with no explanation. #TxLege #txed

When Jorge Borrego designed the voucher plan, he promised it would help working-class families. But the data shows almost 80% of applicants already attend private schools. This was never about helping the 5.5 million kids in Texas public schools. This plan creates government handouts for those who can already afford private school tuition—while taking funding away from the schools that need it most like Judson ISD in #HD118. sacurrent.com/news/majority-…

New report shows that compared to other states, Arkansas woefully underfunds its public schools, which serve 95% of students, while wasting more than $300M a year on voucher subsidies that benefit fewer than 50,000 families. #arpx #arnews buff.ly/YVle9UA

Well, what do you know? *76%* of Texas school voucher applications come from families whose children are not enrolled in public schools. Less than 1% of public and charter school families have applied for vouchers. It's straight up welfare for the wealthy #txlege
