Building on @paulg's train of thought. The social currency of New York is money. The social currency of LA is fame. Boston, how smart you are. The social currency of Austin is how happy you make people feel.

Some facts about this project: 1. It is taking place in Boulder, which is the most healing & inspiring place I have ever been. 2. I have spoken extensively to @vividvoid about it and believe deeply in the vision, as well as his & the team’s capacity to execute on it. 3. I want this place to exist. I want to be heavily involved in it. I want anyone who needs to learn the hard spiritual skills of growing up and handling more responsibility in the world to be able to have the support they need to do so. If you’ve been on the fence about contributing to this but are able & wanting to, I hope you do. And I hope to see you at Nameless Mountain in the future :)
Vivid Void@vividvoid

We're down to the final 72 hrs to bring Nameless Mountain over the finish line. Currently, we are 2/3 of the way to our goal of $50k, which lets us hire staff and launch classes, events & community later this spring. If you haven't given yet, please don't wait. givebutter.com/c/nameless-mou…

@exgenesis This is hitting me like a truck. I'm processing just ***how much** I've benefitted over the last ~7 years of TPOT peer review and experimentation. And I'm actually partaking in exactly this process, right now 🤣 A little too early to talk about, but "mainstreaming jhānas" 2.0

Dispatch #1 from the front-lines of nervous-system-infused parenting 🤓 ~~ We noticed that our daughter Eliana (3 weeks old) would sometimes fuss in the early evening (even though her obvious needs were met) and we weren't sure what was going on. But then I noticed that as one of us held her, she would squirm and her legs would cycle like she was trying to get away from something. And something clicked. It turns out that because she had a fast delivery (<4hrs), her body didn't get the active participation that happens in a slower birth (pushing with their legs + feet against the birth canal in a kind of call-and-response with contractions) On a nervous system level: a motor plan (survival response) was initiated but didn't get to fully complete, so it was buffered for later. The principles for completion are: create containment and safety → then give the limbs something to push against, this re-activates the unfinished motor pattern. This is exactly what played out. She would push and extend her legs with force downwards against my hand, and this intensified as she turned her head to the side (presumably a similar position to resemble the birth canal) And then after several rounds, there was an almighty yawn, exhale and followed by hours of sleep to integrate. ~~ I've guided adults through processes like this many times in breathwork, but it was wild seeing it unfold with our daughter at such a young age.

Attention copilot is flow state on a faucet. Pranab and company sit with you, supporting you in paying attention to what's most important. And also, to what comes up, when you pay attention to what's most important.
Pranab@nopranablem

This is why we built @attncopilot , personal training for deep work! And we teach you the emotional/nervous system skills to enter that deep work *through* the feelings of how bad you feel!

I feel like there is something around holding tension and task specific memory. Ran an experiment where I let go of as much muscular tension as I could while feeling pride and my short term memory went out the window. All the open loops would just leave my head a minute later.

The older I get, the more I'm convinced that enjoyment is one of the most underrated skills. If it costs a gallon of energy to move a mile, it doesn't matter how fast you go. You're not efficient. The person who finishes the day energized will always outpace the one finishing depleted.

Friends, I'm opening a spiritual center in Boulder! It's called Nameless Mountain, and it's focused on spiritual maturity rather than enlightenment. We're trying to raise $50,000 to cover this year's expenses. Please help build this with us by donating or becoming a member: givebutter.com/nameless-mount…

Not a phrase, but a practice. > It's called 'Staylistening' > The practice of sitting with your child through their big emotions without trying to distract, fix, or stop them. > I thought I was doing it for them. > But I realized quickly that any emotion I couldn't welcome in my kids, I also couldn't welcome in myself. > And by learning to welcome them in my kids, I learned to welcome them in myself. > It was a transformative discovery. And it made my daughters some of the the greatest teachers I ever had. > Before they were in my life, I could sit on a meditation pillow and fool myself that I was at peace with all things. They pointed me to everything I still resisted.

If the cost of intelligence and labor fall to zero, what remains? I believe: The opportunity to love one another even more excellently. My first SXSW talk at 3pm CT today, What of humanity in the post-singularity age. luma.com/ltrjbga8?tk=4M…
