A small Canadian town has officially granted trees the status of living beings with legal rights. Terrasse-Vaudreuil, located roughly 40 miles (64 km) west of Montreal, unanimously passed a resolution on June 9 declaring that trees possess “the right to life, natural growth, integrity, and regeneration.” The town is among the first in Canada to endorse the Universal Declaration of the Rights of the Tree. Mayor Michel Bourdeau credited the initiative in part to filmmaker André Desrocher, whose work helped shift local perspectives on trees from mere scenery to vital living entities. “A tree is like a human being,” Bourdeau told CBC. “It breathes, it lives, it takes in water. It protects us from all sorts of things.” Facing repeated flooding in recent years, the municipality views trees as critical infrastructure. They cool urban areas, sequester carbon, purify air, support biodiversity, mitigate heat islands, and assist with stormwater management. The resolution calls for a review of local bylaws to strengthen tree protection and ensure proper replacement when removals occur. This step reflects the expanding global “rights of nature” movement, which seeks legal personhood for ecosystems, much like corporations already enjoy. A notable precedent in Quebec is the 2021 granting of legal personhood to the Magpie River by a regional government and the Innu Council of Ekuanitshit. Advocates believe such recognition could reshape development decisions, enhance climate resilience, and transform urban planning. In Terrasse-Vaudreuil, the message is clear: trees are not simply property, they are living systems essential to human communities.

Breaking Aviation News & Videos
On this day, Air India Flight AI171, departed Ahmedabad Airport at 13:38 local time on a scheduled service to London Gatwick, carrying 230 passengers and 12 crew members. Just 32 seconds after becoming airborne, the aircraft crashed into a Medical College hostel complex in Ahmedabad's Meghaninagar suburb, approximately 0.9 nautical miles from the runway. The impact scattered wreckage across roughly 37,000 square metres and damaged five buildings. Of the 242 people on board, all but one passenger were killed, while at least 19 people on the ground also lost their lives. The crash was the first fatal hull-loss accident involving a Boeing 787 Dreamliner since the aircraft entered commercial service. The AAIB continues its investigation. The central unresolved question is why the fuel control switches moved — whether due to deliberate action, inadvertent input, technical malfunction, a maintenance issue, component failure, or unexpected system behavior. No conclusions have yet been reached. India's Civil Aviation Minister Naidu has stated that the investigation is in its "last stage" and that findings will "mostly" be available within approximately a month. Officials have indicated that, should technical questions remain unresolved, an interim report may be issued rather than a final set of conclusions.

@BlackLabelAdvsr @BasedMikeLee What kind of pagan Christianity does the right column represent? The bible is clear, Jesus was created, in fact, a firstborn of all creation Colossians 1:15 There are many denominations, but incorrect teachings have crept into almost all of them. And yet the bible is unequivocal

"Causation is the #1 leading cause of correlation". This is absolutely one of the most inane and meaningless statements that I have ever seen. It terrifies me that any sane person could be influenced by someone like Steve. Correlation is one, and a very basic manner of measuring the relatedness between 2 items. It is a measurement with a formula that results in numbers between -1 and +1. If 2 items are highly correlated in either a positive or negative way the correlation provides no information on causation. Perhaps what Steve is trying to say is that, when A and B are strongly correlated, you strong proof of causation. This is false for a number of reasons. Correlations are bi-directional. The degree that A is associated with B is the same as the amount that B is associated with A. But only 1 can be a possible causal relationship so even if there is causation, the correlation measurement does not give any information on which variable has a causal impact on the other. To make matters worse, A B C may all be highly correlated with D but the correlations don't indicate which, if any of them, have a causal relationship. They each may contribute uniquely to causing D or they may be redundant with only one of them needed or being truly causative. There could be some causal interaction term between A B and C which a correlation would fail to capture. The same is true with non-linear relationships. So correlation is definitional. It isn't caused by anything. Regression models of various forms can capture more complex and multiple factors influencing a dependent variable but they suggest causality in certain circumstances such as when experimental data is being modelled by a regression equation. So Steve gets a F on his 1 liner because there is a strong negative correlation between what Steve states as truth and what the real truth is likely to be.

It’s time for Prime Minister @MarkJCarney to join me and millions of our fellow Canadians in supporting the appointment of Don Cherry to the Order of Canada, one of our nation’s highest honours. This shouldn’t even be up for debate. Don Cherry is a Canadian icon, a hockey legend and is loved by Albertans. He’s not just one of the greats, his word and opinion about our national sport is still treated as hockey gospel by millions of Canadians. His contributions to Canadian sport and culture are undeniable, and the work he did to honour our nation’s veterans was an invaluable contribution to our country. He will forever hold a special place in the hearts of Canadians. So, put the puck in the net and give Grapes the recognition he deserves. Read the full story here: calgaryherald.com/opinion/column…

Meet my good friend Kelly. I interned with her at her Dad’s clinic, and she was scheduled for an organ transplant but was taken off the schedule because she wasn’t vaccinated. She decided to get the recommended shots to have the transplant, but experienced an adverse reaction to the MMR and died a few days after receiving it. #CrimesAgainstHumanity

🇺🇸 REMEMBER WHEN SCHIFF WAS ACCUSED OF MORTGAGE FRAUD? Adam Schiff allegedly claimed two homes as his "principal residence" on mortgage and election filings for years, raising serious legal and ethical concerns. Documents show he designated his Maryland home and a California condo as primary residences. Federal law prohibits designating more than one property as a "principal residence," as this status can qualify homeowners for special financial benefits like lower mortgage rates and tax breaks. An ethics complaint, filed by a real estate investigator, alleges potential tax fraud and mortgage fraud—crimes carrying significant penalties if proven. Source: rvmnews

@NightmodeFPS @PRosslemoon @wideawake_media lol - light aircraft and not a passenger one? That’s a good one! It’s a gutted passenger plane. As for weight training, there are plenty of options, which doesn’t involve placing dozens of small tanks with interconnected plumbing.

I just talked to a doctor friend of mine in Canada. He thinks about 20% of the doctors in Canada know exactly what’s going on but they’re keeping quiet about it. All of them are remaining silent. They simply aren’t recommending the vaccine for their patients. The other 80% believe the vaccines are safe and effective. Really incredible.
