Let’s set aside the random and irrelevant invocation of “neocons.” I also want to set aside Mamdani as an example. The criticism engulfing him—some made in good faith, including around his past activism—has at this point taken on a hysterical life of its own.

I'm devastated by the antisemitic attack at one of our nation's largest reform synagogues. My heart is with the entire Temple Israel congregation. Antisemitism has no place in our country. We owe it to our Jewish siblings to stamp it out and ensure they can worship without fear.

But alas, the Palestinian people in Gaza are left holding the bag for the tried and tested failures of activists and online pundits whose arrogance and incompetence failed to anticipate what Netanyahu’s government was truly capable of, and how horrendously vile and criminal Hamas’s behavior is.
