“A reason why we give [migrant] workers better welfare, is because we need them to stay with us longer term.” Temporary labour migration rules require migrant workers to leave their jobs after a few years. This is a barrier to development for employees and employers.

#Migrants often face information disparities, leaving them vulnerable to exploitation. Our partner @HRDFThailand shares how they help migrant workers with legal assistance. Together, since 2022, we have supported 113 migrants to access justice for labour rights violations.

Migrants can often be more vulnerable to tuberculosis due to their environment & living conditions. With support from @GlobalFund, we equip residents of the Mae La temporary shelter with TB screening & health education. This World #TBDay, we reaffirm our commitment to #endTB.

As migration policies become more restrictive and regular pathways remain out of reach, many migrants have few options other than irregular migration. It is a priority to enhance the availability of pathways for regular migration.

“They even withheld my passport, preventing me from working anywhere else,” said Niang, a #migrant worker who was unjustly refused his salary. All workers should be entitled to their labour rights. Learn how we, through our partner @HRDFThailand, helped Niang access justice.

With the Division of Anti-Trafficking in Persons, we held the first two information sessions on the National Referral Mechanism (NRM) for Victims of Trafficking – an operational guideline on protecting and assisting VoTs. 145 officials from 29 provinces joined the sessions.
