@harryjsisson Aw there you are pretending not to understand things! A bigger, better ballroom, on the White House grounds, would almost certainly make what happened tonight impossible.

I’m from Germany. The problem is that with Merz and the coalitions that are being formed, you still end up with very left-leaning policies, because no one wants to form a coalition with the AfD. So the CDU, under Merz, ends up partnering with a left-leaning party instead of working with the AfD, which is the second-strongest force and in some polls even the strongest, just to maintain what they call the “Brandmauer” (firewall). Secondly, hardly any of this is actually implemented, or at least you don’t feel the effects of it. As some people have already pointed out in the comments, some major cities look like complete shitholes. You have a completely distorted cityscape and Germany as a whole has turned into a massive bureaucratic machine. More and more jobs are being created in the public sector, while other businesses are struggling with budget planning and are starting to move production abroad. And even self-employed people are now considering leaving the country altogether, faced with high taxes, heavy social contributions and a system where hard work and effort often feel less rewarded than they should. That’s the problem right now.

I don’t understand why Merz gets so much hate. He wants to cut red tape, admits Germany made a mistake with nuclear, wants to make Germany business friendly and occasionally chides Israel. Why is he disliked so much? Can someone, especially German, explain?

I am deeply concerned about developments in the Palestinian territories. In my phone call with Prime Minister @netanyahu, I made it clear: There must be no de facto annexation of the West Bank.

@FLASHGLADDING @torbenmarkp Trump bullied, insulted and threatened to invade European nato allies. He didn’t tell European nato allies about his attack on Iran nor did he tell them the goals while further insulting us and saying he is the strongest and doesn’t need help. That’s the opposite of rebuilding.

Because the US doesn’t take the decision of leaving NATO lightly although you all seem to think Trump is just reckless and non-calculating. Like Rubio said in Munich, we are rebuilding the western alliance in a strong and unapologetic way and we want to do this WITH our European allies. We will do it alone if we must but we’d rather do it with Europe. But either way we are no longer going to be polite and orderly caretakers of the West’s managed decline

I went to Amsterdam and Dublin. Everyone lived their entire life in a flat. We took horse draw tour in Dublin... showed us $8 million dollars homes that were smaller than my $400k home in the US. The public school system is a joke as well, ours is bad but not like this. I don't think anyone has an IQ over 80 in Europe, was like talking to children. They think Americans are all stupid and poor...it's wild. Seen a 35 year old guy in a wheelchair with a leg fracture...I asked why he didn't get it fixed with the universal Healthcare. He said there's a que. 8 months until his surgical appointment. I was like "they will have to rebreak it and set it... you will never walk the normal since it was allowed to heal messed up." He was flabbergasted...he thought bones just stay broken until fixed at the hospital... holy sh*t.

People really aren’t aware of how poor Europeans are. The most common salary in Spain is €1,298 per month. An average apartment exceeds €250,000. If you manage to save €250 per month, you’d need 1,000 months to pay for it. That’s more than 83 years to buy yourself an apartment. Is it really worth having public healthcare instead of private insurance when you have to live poor your entire life?

@LindseyGrahamSC @POTUS Ur President insulted all of US allies for years, threatened them, downplayed their help in previous US wars, slapped tariffs on them, threatened them with invasion and annexation, stopped aid to Ukraine who helps u fight against irans allies while bowing down to Putin. Just spoke to @POTUS about our European allies’ unwillingness to provide assets to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning, which benefits Europe far more than America. I have never heard him so angry in my life. I share that anger given what’s at stake. The arrogance of our allies to suggest that Iran with a nuclear weapon is of little concern and that military action to stop the ayatollah from acquiring a nuclear bomb is our problem not theirs is beyond offensive. The European approach to containing the ayatollah’s nuclear ambitions have proven to be a miserable failure. The repercussions of providing little assistance to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning are going to be wide and deep for Europe and America. I consider myself very forward-leaning on supporting alliances, however at a time of real testing like this, it makes me second guess the value of these alliances. I am certain I am not the only senator who feels this way.

Bundeskanzler Friedrich Merz@bundeskanzler

@LindseyGrahamSC Lindsey Graham nailed it. European allies lost their way — only fight evil in their own backyard. If they won’t stick with America against real threats like Iran, they don’t deserve our protection. Cut the free ride. America First means real allies or none. 💥🛑🇺🇸

European nations deserve to have their sovereignty respected, yet the EU often punishes countries that step out of line with its policies. It’s time to ditch the EU and restore sovereignty to individual nations, in Europe and across the globe.

I impeached Biden’s Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, those were my articles of impeachment that passed in the House of Representatives. I unapologetically believe in border security and deporting criminal illegal aliens and I support law enforcement. However, I also unapologetically support the 2nd amendment. Legally carrying a firearm is not the same as brandishing a firearm. I support American’s 1st and 4th amendment rights. There is nothing wrong with legally peacefully protesting and videoing. MAGA, consider it like this. We lost our minds when we watched Biden’s FBI track down and aggressively carry out home invasions and arrest on peaceful J6’ers who walked in the Capitol through open doors. Imaging if one of our MAGA independent journalists or even just a MAGA supporter stood in the street outside a J6’ers house while Biden’s FBI carried out a law enforcement operation, home invasion, and arrest. Then Biden’s FBI goes to the MAGA guy videoing it all and shoves a woman with him to the ground and sprays them with bear spray then throws the MAGA guy to the ground as MAGA guy was trying to help the woman off the ground. Then Biden’s FBI beats MAGA guy on the ground, disarms MAGA guy, and then shoots him dead. What would have been our reaction? Both sides need to take off their political blinders. You are all being incited into civil war, yet none of it solves any of the real problems that we all face, and tragically people are dying.

Europe has snubbed Trump at every turn! They’ve ripped us off with imbalanced trade deals. We’ve paid more than our fair share into NATO, while Trump had to force others to pay their share! The European press has lied and demonized Trump and MAGA! The UK sent people to campaign against Trump IN THE UNITED STATES!! We’re done being taken advantage of! Europe doesn’t even share our same values anymore! In a few years , European countries will have no sovereignty. The EU will be one big Muslim country! We won’t support that! America first!

No, it forbids an election under martial law. Zelensky and Ukraine’s Parliament have extended martial law repeatedly and used it as an excuse not to hold an election. The current period of martial law expires on February 3. I guarantee that they’ll extend it again and then use it as an excuse not to hold an election.
